Erger? YOu mean the guy who has the highest shooting % of all the G and F's on the team..the guy with the highest 3pt % on the team right now...that guy?

The kid plays 10 minutes a night...but his name pops up on here like he's the anchor that's pulling this team down. I have never understood the obsession some of you have with this kid and I never will

Yep that guy. The guy who shot 18% for his first 3 seasons here. The guy who played key minutes in both the loss to Western Michigan in 2011 MAC Tournament (Orr forgot Scott Thomas was on the bench for 6+minutes), and 2012 MAC Tournament loss to Central (Air ball on a three late in 2nd half). He is far from the only problem, but Orr obviously thinks he is worthy of playing time and his career proves otherwise. The anchor that pulled this program under is LOUIS ORR, but Erger should have been long gone years ago.

Oh that's right...Erger was the only guy who missed a shot in that CMU game.....

Well Dee Brown missed like 14 that game, but over his career did produce enough to obtain a shooting percentage >20% and score a bunch of points. What does Erger do to deserve playing time? Have you ever seen a player shoot that poorly over a career and continue to play when he doesn't specialize in any one aspect of the game? He doesn't handle the ball, rebound, shoot, or defend well. What is his point? I'd love to know.

Where do you get that Erger is an 18% career shooter? He's more like 30%...which isn't great...but it isn't sub 20.

The argument isn't how good is Erger. The argument is how much of an impact does he have on the team. He's filler...an end of the bench guy. Every team has them. Some of you people are downright nasty in your criticism of a kid who barely plays....it's like picking on a guy in the chorus because the Times ripped on your musical. It's ugly...it's unwarranted and it distracts from the real issues with this team.

At least we agree that the main issue with the program is the coach... :)

I'm glad he is up to 30% including this year, his 3 pointer vs Wright St. was probably the biggest shot of that game. That number came from before this season. Heck, I thought he should have played more vs. Youngstown. He atleast looked interested. He isn't the only person that people are critical of, see the subject of this thread in particular. I guess my point is that successful coaches wouldn't recruit/keep/and certainly wouldn't play players such as this. Let's be honest, did anyone think after his freshman year he would develop into an impact player? Successful coaches find a way for those players to transfer to smaller schools. Thus, the reason BG continues to be rebuilding while role players just play to play with no impact.

Ya, 6 years of watching Louis Orr coaching have led to increased posting, and increased alcohol consumption. Globe, I'm just trying to keep up with you.

Hard task my friend. To keep up with Globe, you must start 3 new threads a week. You also must spend all free time looking at stats and videos on all high school players in a 120 mile radius and then post how fast or slow that player is. 8-)

I know Erger has had his fair share of struggles in years past, but I'm glad someone has stuck up for this guy. Not only is his shooting percentage above 50%, but he also leads the team this year in +/- at 24. Cut the guy a break.

I'm flattered, but I don't post that often.

Sucessful coaches recruit filler...you won't find a team in America without a scholarship player on the end of the bench getting a limited amount of PT. You don't measure the team by them...you don't point to them as the problem. We have so many other flaws on this team....

Fair point. I'll focus my negativity to Coach Orr and his staff (or lack thereof).
