Utah State is a good team. They held them down pretty well for 2 quarters but they were too good for them in the second half.

They hung in there for a while despite losing their best running back and leading tackler in the first few minutes. Eventually the defense wore down and could not stop the run. Playing Dantin most of the time over Owens was not helpful either. Granted Dantin is a senior so I would expect him to play and maybe start, but I think Owens would have faired better with more time.
Oh well, MAC is 0:1

Yeah...the final score makes it look like a total ass whupping, but that was a really competitive game for the better part of the day.

Wonder how many Toledo fans were pulling for us when we got stomped 63-7 by Tulsa...
That said I pull for the MAC in bowl games. The great season the conference had was set up by a great bowl season last year. A good bowl season this year would answer a lot of critics.

As much as I dislike Toledo... I will always pull hard for them to win during their non-conference schedule. When any of the MAC schools beat top 25 teams-it gives the conference credibility. When MAC schools get pounded on national TV, the country views the conference as a bunch of rinky-dink schools that don't deserve to play against the "Big Boys"
