Game on ESPN U tonight....
Re: Game on ESPN U tonight....
Globe, Crawford went against the coach I believe and for that was pulled. At first during one time out he was told to shoot the ball, that was the play where he gave up shooting a layup and past the ball out of bounds. And then immediately after the time out he took a bad three point shot and was pulled. As far as Orr he didn't play any of the last 10 minutes of the game. And having Clarke, Kraus and Henderson/Erger on the floor at the same time. Oh my.

I get sitting a guy because he screams back at you or does something awful, but mental errors that frankly weren't that egregious in what might be the biggest game at BG in the last 5 years, just nuts. How in the world do you get a team to believe in you when you don't show that you can believe in them at all. Crawford wasn't playing great, sit him down for a minute and gt him back in there. It was clear we weren't going to score with Clarke.gmartin wrote:Globe, Crawford went against the coach I believe and for that was pulled. It takes a lot for me to get actually mad at sports, I just can't get this at all. We were set up to compete and just walked away. I want to go down with all guns firing, Crawford firing halfcourt shots, Orr shooting ugly stuff. Whatever.Falconfreak90 wrote:Gotta agree with GT. No reason in the world for our two leading scorers to be sitting late in the game within striking distance. Yeah Crawford messed up but we looked totally lost out there. Kraus? How does he play so many minutes????? Frustrating as hell. Overall, I thought BG played pretty well....much better than I thought.
We needed energy at the end, shots were on but hitting the front end of the rim. For all of his warts Crawford certainly provides energy.

Lamonta Stone and Crawford were going at it during the timeout. So Orr benches his point guard and BG loses. A total clusterf### down the stretch. Wow what a circus that staff is.

I had heard this story over sports talk today. I was on the coaches side. After watching this game it made me rethink it.

Still would like more minutes for Holmes and Clarke.
Last couple of minutes the 5 on the floor was just.....odd. When we need points and need good looks I want my best guys taking the shots and that wasn't the case.

The bench is a dysfunctional mess. Just a total meltdown.

One of the final possessions Holmes was on the block pleading for the offense to do something...anything. I noticed he walked to the locker room with Orr in his ear the whole way.

Well then the bench represents our coach, our coaching staff and our program under Orr's watch and The Fundraising Clowns "direction". Good coaching and we had a really good shot at winning that game. Orr coaching results in another last 10 minute of the second half melt down. Get rid of his azz already! Put Globe as interim coach for the remainder of the year.guest44 wrote:The bench is a dysfunctional mess. Just a total meltdown.
Re: Game on ESPN U tonight....
Orr twisted his ankle in the first half. Did something to it again in the second. That's why he wasn't on the bench or playing.

Luke Kraus should only play when winning or losing by 50.
Orr played great. We fell apart the last 10 minutes.

We just blew our chance at the tourney if we are on the bubble.

Crawford made bad decisions in bunches in the second half before being pulled. That "chip on his shoulder" causes him to make to many stupid plays to prove himself. Crawford's absence clearly did NOT hurt us down the stretch.
Crawford is a senior and still plays stupidly and selfishly. At this point, he should be a smarter player that does more to deliver basketball games rather than a douche me-first stat-padder. Coach Orr should limit Crawfords minutes at the point to no more than 20 and give the other 20 to Clarke.
What DID hurt us was the explainable abundance of minutes for Erger and Kraus.
I thought Chauncey Orr looked pretty solid today - a clear 2 steps up from Dee Brown based on tonight's performance. Holmes gets up quicker and higher than any other player I've ever seen in a BG uniform. He's skilled. He could be great.

I only saw a few minutes of the game online but listened to the entire first half. I know people are beating up on Kraus, but he did take two big charges to swing momentum. Todd Walker seemed to praise his defensive ability. Those that watched the whole thing or were there, is he really that bad?

We couldn't score without him. He definitely messed up a bit but you don't pull one of the only guys who can score on the team when you need scoring.BleedOrange wrote:Crawford made bad decisions in bunches in the second half before being pulled.
