I forgot to add one thing

The guy in the wheelchair had like a scissors-lift attachment. So when he got the ball down low, he lifted himself up and scored easily.

I had a dream about the basketball team and who was on it. We opened the season at Toledo...
Funny...I always considered dreams with Toledo in them nightmares :D

Far from an official press release here, but from a good source, Wright made his decision and is done.
The short version is that the coaches want him to come back but the players are basically saying, he quit, let him go.

Things could always change of course, but that's what I'm hearing right now.

If he quit all I have to say is, Adios...the kid has talent but his head is way too big to stay here.

Not sure if this qualifies as rumor mongering, but I had heard that is during the season suspension was actually as a result of him quitting the team, and then rejoining. The source I heard it from was fairly reliable, but I never got any confirmation of it. If that were the case I'd say he's already had one chance...no need for a second.

That said, if we win 10 games next year I will be SHOCKED.

Hammb, sadly I agree. We're looking at single digits in wins.

That might be the rated G version of what happened but that's not what happened. The real version should not be discussed on AZZ.com because it doesn't reflect highly upon his character. I'll leave it at that.

Wright has been my guy ever since he signed and until I see it acknowledged on the news/press release or otherwise, I refuse to believe that he is officially gone.

However, from the accounts that are starting to filter in, that may very well be the case.

I was holding out hope and still am, that Dakich was in a way using the media and/or AZZ.com to light a fire under Steve's ass . . . I'lll leave it at that . . .

last night at Anderson Arena ...

Post by Harry Hood »

my wife was walking past AA last night on her way home from class, and the team was coming out after practice.

She said Steve Wright was with the team and left in a car with Ron Lewis.
Not sure if someone had left the team, why would they still be working out with them?

JC PG Antwan Alexander did not qualify for admission at St Louis. Per the insiders, we are "on" him.

I still remain hopefully that the door has not been closed on a Steven Wright return, that being said, if he has decided to leave the program, wouldn't make sense for him to continue to go to class since only two weeks would be left of the summer session since the news broke?

He would need the summer session to maintain his eligibility where ever he decides to play next season.

Search Results bring up all the usuals for Antwan Alexander

-Saint Louis really happy that they signed him . . .
-JC Coach says he's a good kid . . .
-He has three years remaining eligibility
-Great leaping ability, size (6-2/200)
-Tenacious on-the-ball defender

and then BOOM!

-SLU drops him due to not addressing "summer academic goals"
-New Mexico, New Mexico St., SW Missouri St and Loyola Chicago are also expressing interest. No visits and no offers reported, but that's the most inaccurate part of theInsiders.com

Do we really want a guy that had academic problems elsewhere? Our program has seen too many players transfer/never make it academically, should we be taking a chance on someone with a pre-existing problem? :?

It seems that Wright and Alexander would be a straight trade for one another in the classroom and perhaps that could be addressed in the "Dakich . . . Paradox" thread as well . . .
