Musicman, I agree with the booth. Nothing 100% conclusive to overturn the call. The officials are not screwing us. Our pathetic QB play is screwing us.

Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
QB job is open this summer, Schilz doesn't give this team the best chance to win.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
Offense sure benefited from that extra practice time.
Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
Pattern? Don't you have to be in position to to win the division over a period of time for it to be a pattern? Don't you have to go to a bowl game every year for losing in a bowl game to be a pattern? The only pattern I see is that each year our record gets better.BGWriter wrote:Schilz is just cringe-inducing when the game is on the line.
There has to be someone better to play QB for this team. There has to be. And if there isn't, then the staff isn't doing its job recruiting the right people.
In the meantime...
Clawson and staff have another stellar year:
A loss to UT
A loss for the division title to Kent
A loss in the bowl game
This is becoming a pattern.

Who did BG beat this year?
Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
Another pattern, SCHILZ regressed all season. Your QB is supposed to learn from mistakes and get better each game. Except he got worse as the season went on. Open tryouts for QB next year.
Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
Lots of things I like about DC but how he manages leads and close games is not one of them. His record in close games is atrocious.

Re: Military Bowl Game Thread
Schilz is a three year starter...he will be the QB next year unless Knapke looks like the second coming of Peyton Manning. Johnson doesn't have the arm and Valdez (if he signs) will be a true freshman. Schilz took a step back this year, no question about it. Don't know how much of that is due to his top WR's graduating, but he did not look comfortable all year..
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

8 teams, which is way better than I've been able to watch the last few years. Some of us seem to forget that those guys were ranked in the top 25... Not too ashamed of the effort that held a top 25 team in the negative on rushing yards.
I think we were a blocked punt away from victory. Ever simce i can remember (2003) BG has been one of those fickle teams that crumbles whenever something changes momentum. Today it was the blocked punt, earlier this year it was the fg against UF. Coach needs to teach them to overcome the adversity next year.
