Tough breaks in this game...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Just watched the game on DVR and man, the chances we had. Twice SJSU tries to get cute on reverses and fumbles twice. How the hell we couldn't get the ball is amazing. Schilz gets sacked, fumbles and the ball rolls right to the SJSU D. lol. Handful of plays....damn. SJSU has a real nice team and their fans were 1st class. We ran into some looking at all the sights Friday and every one of them thought it was a great game and gave kudos to BG. Tailgate was a blast but we sure missed Falcon Fanatic and BG Fan due to the weather. We left Akron at 8pm Wed night and managed to get to Hagerstown, MD, by 1:30. Got rooms there and drove the last 60 miles to DC Thursday am. Ride home was smooth Sat pm.

From Gainesville in Sept to the Military Bowl, it was a very fun season and now the program MUST get to the next level. Already looking forward to what could be a Huge 2013...Aug 29th, season and home opener vs Tulsa. FINALLY, Tulsa comes to BG. 21 starters back...gonna miss a very special group of Seniors. GO FALCONS!!!

No doubt about it. The plays you mentioned were huge and man did it sting watching our lead disappear and see SJSU score twice in the final five minutes to snatch it away from us. While there is no doubt this program is tracking in the right direction, it has just been painful the last several years with some of the tough losses we've had. Watching our lead in the bowl vanish in the closing minutes to SJSU and losing to Kent State by 7 to fall short in the MAC East this year....losing all of those one-score games in the last few years including some on the final play (29-28 to OU, 27-26 to Wyoming, 24-21 to Miami, 28-27 to Temple, 28-26 to Buffalo, 30-27 to Troy) and of course falling to Idaho in the bowl on the two-point conversion 43-42. Just Heartbreakers! On paper we should field another good team next season, but to get over the hump, we’re going to need to starting winning these big games (such as KSU and SJSU this year) to get to where we want to be.
GO BG!!!

In order to get to the next level, BG needs a legit QB. Say what you want, #7 is NOT the answer. There has been zero growth in this kid over the last year, and in fact, I would suggest he regressed this season.

I have to agree with the Oldballcoach. QB play has got to be better next season.

Having a full stable of healthy WR's should help greatly. But I also agree the QB play needs to step up to another level.

Freak, glad to hear you had a fun safe trip. I am also very excited about next year. I wish I could have made at least one game this year but it was just a very busy season for us. See ya next season "Little Suzie".

Sadly, that's normally never the case.

No amount of great receivers are going to change his mechanics...which to me...are the problem.

If I remember correctly, BG had a home and home scheduled with Tulsa. BG played at Tulsa, but Tulsa cancelled on coming to BG and BG did not have time to find a replacement and only had 10 games that year.
