On the bright side

Post by Globetrotter »

Next year we will undeniably have two great post defenders and a solid outside shooter. Spreading the floor with 2 solid big men is always a good idea. I hope that Holmes and Black see the floor at the same time alot next year.

Any other bright sides for next year in terms of player personell?

No Crawford? LOL

I don't really have much to be thrilled about from a talent perspective next year. I think Holmes is gonna be awesome and Black will be what he is. I don't know that any of the guards will provide, and I don't think Orr is anything more than an OK SF at best.

As bad as this team has looked at times this year I'm really scared where we'll be next year losing the only 2 guys on the team that can actually score.

If that girl with the Erger jersey shown on the video board is his girlfriend, that dude has scored big time.

These are usually my favorite years....I am a masochist. Watching guys figure out where they fit on a team and accepting new roles is something I find fascinating.

Basketball is a tremendously psychological game. You limit yourself based on your label and role so much that a scorer might take a back seat to someone else just based on the system. Sitting around and watching Lebron is the best example. While I think we will struggle scoring, Henderson, Tisdale, Denny, Clarke, Orr(if he stays (for some reason I think he will)) and Holmes all scored plenty in HS or at Juco. If asked to I think someone will step up [-o< .

I saw Erger @ Meijer the other day with what I can only assume is his girlfriend. I said to those that sit around me at the game yesterday, "Even the worst players still have hot girlfriends."

Didn't notice the video board, but if it's the same one I saw at Meijer I concur with your assessment.

I don't know why but I do think somewhere there is 10+ points per game hidden within Henderson and Clarke.

Of course they may need 10 shots a game to accomplish that...

I can't put my finger on it, but I think they're both more talented than Kraus/Crawford yet they just don't seem comfortable on the floor...

I loved Clarke in minor minutes last year. When he has seen more PT this year he hasn't been much of anything. Turnovers and nothing above average.

But, she's no Jessica Alba, right?

Oh I definitely agree...he's been bad at almost everything, besides turning it over, this year.

Still...I think there is talent there, but I don't know where the hell it is.

We are averaging 62 points a game that's like 280th in the country.

We are going to lose 37 of those points in our 4 seniors. Returning

1 Clarke 4.3ppg 18a 18to
2 Henderson 3ppg 3rpg
3 Orr 6.8ppg 3.8rpg
4 Holmes 5.3ppg 4.6rpg 2.5+bpg
5 Black 3.4ppg 3.7rpg 1bpg

That is our returning group if, and that's a big if Orr stays when his dad is let go.
I guess it will be fun to watch Holmes set shotblocking records.

With that line up they should make a big "Clank" graphic to put up on the video board....

You know how they put up Ks for strikeouts for guys. Could do that with Bricks and build a house in falcon club.

Oh it's scary how horrible next years team could be at the offensive end of the court. On a positive note, we will have a gigantic front line, not capable of scoring.

There are scorers that just need to get their game under control and become consistant. Flashes of what Henderson was in HS appear every once in a while, Orr scored on MSU, and Holmes could be that All-MAC performer we've been waiting on.

Holmes seems to have a nice touch - imagine if we could develop a couple of 3-point sharpshooters with his athleticism and touch inside. Optimistically I've got to believe it will come together eventually.......still waiting.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Denny and Holmes will work really well together. I think Black and Holmes work really well together too, once they are given the chance.
