No surprise Temple bests BG 75-57

Post by HoopsFan »

Hey, even the subs scored for BG in the end to avoid a 30 point drubbing.

5-8 Off to Central next year.

Kraus goes scoreless for the third straight game! Way to go Luke! Keeping logging those starts and producing nothing offensively for us. And get this, Lyshe scored 7 points in the final minute which was more points than any other player on the team aside from Calhoun for the game! He hit a three, had a steal that led to a layup then scored again. Yes, I know what the final minute of a game like that is like, but how sad is that. I mean he still had to at least shoot and make the three. Lyshe scored as many baskets in ONE MINUTE today as Kraus has scored in the last EIGHT GAMES!!!!!! It's pathetic!

Because he had some success in the Big East and he was the opposite of Dakich. Remember, Orr won a title in his first year. However, the record has been dismal of late and a change should be considered.

Why did Orr get a contract extension? Any person with eyeballs knew that MAC regular season title was a fluke. BG wasn't even favored in the first MAC Tournament game as the 1 seed. No other program was going to hire him.

IMO, at the end of the year, and that's only if the dept can cough up the $168,000 for the final year of his contract. This would allow the program avoid yet another throw-away year, so I hope it happens. It's hard for me to imagine Orr getting canned mid season.

We're 3-8 against DI competition. We're declining in a period when the conference as a whole is on the upswing.

NO emphasis on men's BB - for now. I have stated this before, but comment is always ignored. Start believing it. Other schools would not tolerate this.

I can't imagine what shape we will be in March of 2014 if you are correct

Upswing? Based on what/who?

Eastern Michigan had 200 people at a game this year. That upswing.

I used to think that was BG's way, to let a coach work to the end of a contract period, but Dee Knoblauch (sp) proved that an AD can actually fire a coach before the contract. I think even Greg Fundraiser has let a couple of coaches go before end of contract.

The problem is GF thinks the program isn't in trouble. Gee, Lou is a nice guy and all, but he's not a winner. I gotta belive the Stroh Center costs a bit more to run that "Venerable" arena, so playing in front of 1200 won't pay the rent.

It's odd, but Sunday's game (BG vs. Dayton) showed the difference between a winner and a loser. The postgame meet and greet and the fact that Lori Albers and Marybeth Giese were there, along with Fran Voll shows that the women fans are a family. The women do everything to promote the game and the men do nothing.

Even Dan Dakich in the bleak years still went out into the community. I'm ready to dust off the "Miss Me Yet?" poster of DD and post it here :-) I don't wish the Falcons ill, I think they'll do that all by themselves. BG has to win at least 12 of the remaining 19 games just to be respectable. I don't see that happening so let's clean house.

BTW Anthony Stacey is 4-4 with his boys BB team.

Greg Fundraiser already set the program back multiple years by not firing Orr after last season. Anyone who watched the hideous loss to Central Michigan and thought we had a championship coach, is basically crazy. Add to it the shoulder shrugging church service post game presser, and you knew this season was a throw away as well. A new coach would have had Calhoun, Crawford, and 8 scholarships minimum over a 2 year period. The alternative will be a bunch of length with no ability to score the ball. Give it a few more L's, we will be seeing the 2-3 zone before the end of January.
