Believe what you want...that's the beauty of it all. I do find the a lot of "tolerant" people (at least what they say) turn out to be the most intolerant possible.

Congrats to Stokes, Collier, Mays and Oczypok. Getting a degree is tough enough, to do so on time while dealing with the demands of being an athlete is quite an accomplishment

Same as politics. Divisive topic.
It's only divisive because some people just don't have the maturity to handle the fact that not everyone agrees with them all of the time. As a result, they try to keep them from exressing their opinion or attack them when they do, instead of having respect for others and being tolerant enough to let them express themselves.
You seem to lack the maturity to see that others might find this divisive. In essence you are doing what you are accusing others of doing.
It is only divisive if you yourself are intolerant.
This cracks me up. I am tolerant of all religions and people. God had nothing to do with this. Religion is always a divisive topic. Just because you happen to agree with his religion doesn't change that.
Hmmm........you know "bold" above for a fact GT? My faith tells me He has pretty much everything to do w/everything! You can believe what/who you want to believe ---- I will do same. Tolerance?

Sure. I could care less what you believe in. If I did I would go to a different forum to talk about it. Sorry if this is getting blown out of proportion but I am pretty sure most of you don't know the meaning of tolerance or divisive. Someone else brought up God. Not me. I believe in praying to magical jelly beans and that they will provide my family with money and people who don't have money didn't pray to the magic jelly beans enough.

Magical Jelly Beans = Obama, now I have changed this to politics. Lets just move on....

You make the correlation...yet you fail to see the difference. I admit, what I said about the election was divisive because I called out people who think differently than I do. Simply stating that something...be it religion, jelly beans.etc... has an influence isn't "divisive" unless you choose to take umbrage with people expressig beliefs you don't cotton to.

So if I had randomly posted that I thought faith was a sham in a post about Desmond Rorie I should expect no response? If I did so I would be a fool not to expect a response, one would assume I would be fishing for a response.

Again...you fail to see the difference. Stating that "faith is a sham" is argumentative because it attacks a belief system. Stating "I have faith" isn't divisive because it's nothing more than a personal statement about a set of beliefs. There's no judgement of others...implicit or explicit in the that statement.

Do you honestly believe that stating a personal belief is the same thing as attacking a set of beliefs?

It's inherently divisive because there is another side to it. One believes one side....one the other. One side has to be written in the negative. I believe in bigfoot.....what's the opposite of that which doesn't seem argumentative? Can you say anything other than bigfoot is a sham? You may have made this point without trying. Is there an opposite belief to stating positive faith that can't be written in the negative.....if there isn't, isn't the first part inherently divisive?

When you add religion to topics not on religion I think you have an agenda to push your religion. Believe whatever you want....don't put it in my face.

Yes, and the importance of it. You are the one taking issue with this. There is no ramming anything down anyones throat in the previous pieces of this thread. That makes you the one a bit sensitive/intolerant and hence the lengthy thread on this topic- you brought it to the front.....

This is akin to me saying I like Obama, you saying Romney is better....then me saying, why do you have to be so argumentative. Again you just dont get it because you are embedded in it.

Because I wouldn't spend 3 seconds talking to any of you about my religious preferences in person let alone on a f'ing public forum does that make me an atheist, intolerant, or just an azzhole. Keep it to yourself. That goes for both the agnostics and the evangolists. Love you Falcons.

Ya know GT, I don't recall mentioning you. It's just I've found those screaming loudest for tolerance are fine unless you disagree with them. Don't take it personal cuz it wasn't directed at you. Just a general observation....
