Ugh...another loss. Haven't looked at the stat sheet, but from reading this thread I know what I'll find. Contributions from Crawford & Calhoun and nobody else. Too few minutes by Holmes/Henderson, too many by Kraus/Black. It's a consistent formula we've got here.
This team cannot score.
But I gotta agree with Globe (for a change). Orr is here through this season at the very least, so when I'm at the games I still find a way to enjoy them. One of the big ones for me is just making fun of how very bad we really are...it helps pass the time. Other than Holmes this season has been very short on bright spots. And this is coming from somebody like Globe who actually enjoys watching young talented teams develop almost as much as watching championship caliber teams dominate.
Unfortunately with Orr we never get to see either of those things. He doesn't develop talent worth a damn and we certainly aren't ever going to see a championship level team...

They aren't firing Orr in the middle of the year...that isn't how it's done. I hope he's out in March, but I'm not holding my breath. This team is bad...and dull. I have no interest in seeing them play.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: BG vs Miami
This is perfectly understandable sentiment. The team is boring, has no shot of going anywhere, and isn't even really all that young.Flipper wrote:They aren't firing Orr in the middle of the year...that isn't how it's done. I still enjoy the hell out of the Stroh Center, enjoy the occasional dunk, and enjoy just hanging out watching basketball, but I can certainly understand not wanting to watch this team.
I'm still not 100% convinced they'll fire him after this season either, but if they don't I'll be pissed. I was upset they didn't let him go last year because of how that team competed with the seniors it had. This season was a foregone conclusion as far as I'm concerned, and it's going exactly as expected.

C'mon Globe...I disagree with you a lot. You disagree with me a lot....we all disagree a lot. The important thing to remember is that Jesus loves us.

As an aside, how funny would it be if a devil worshipper or atheist became a well known athlete/coach. If after Adrian Peterson had a tremendous td run he pointed to hell, or said "I just want to thank the devil" after the game. Or even a muslim. What if someone said...praise be Muhammad after the game?

First of all, dude it was a joke! I thought we were all friends here...
Simply making light of the fact that you & I have had so many disagreements lately about guys like Crawford...
The downside of the internet, apparently, is that I can come off as being an asshole even when I was totally not intending to be! In real life it's usually intentional
Take away the throw-in, I guess. I agree with you. I think Orr is a shitty ass coach...worse than Dakich, maybe. But I also don't think it is really worth putting hashtags or turning everything into how much Orr sucks. He's not getting fired mid-season, so what's the point? I just try to still enjoy the games for what we can: a nice arena, good cookies, laughably bad basketball, and one fun-to-watch newcomer who blocks shots like crazy when the coach lets him off the bench.
