Now finish the second half!

Post by BGSU33 »

That was one of our better first periods of the year. We are up 13, now just keep doing what we are doing and finish. Be ready to start the second half too. We were up 10 at halftime last game to Buffalo and lost that lead in under 2:00. Let's finish this Falcons.

And just like last game, Kent State comes out scoring, knocking down a couple threes (after scoring none in the first half) and add a dunk. What is so hard about being ready to start a second half? The first two minutes just kill us.

Still up 11. I'm more worried about the final 2 minutes than the first 2.

On a side note, former coach Larranaga and his Miami Hurricanes are up on #1 Duke by 30 points. Always wondered where our program could have been if he was still coaching the Brown and Orange.

Ya, amazing how quick he got Miami to the this point given all the NCAA issues from previous staff.

Nice win over Kent State! Wasn't expecting that or C Orr scoring 18 pts. Finally finished a game the way you're supposed to.

It's a pretty simple game when shots fall, but then again you have to have players that can do it consistently.

Here comes the Louis Orr mid conference season run maybe? Usually happens around MAC West time, so it will be interesting to see where we go from here. However, no road wins till February means your season is toast anyway.

We opened the door for them a few times in the second half...but Kent was sloppy, a definite departure from the more discipline teams I'm used to seeing from them... and we shot the ball well enough to keep them from getting a run started. Really good effort by everyone...

Flip......I agree. I thought that was one of the poorer Kent teams I have seen in some time. Our "bigs" were very superior on the boards and defensively.

No matter how bad we are, we always seem to play Kent tough. I can remember making the trip to Kent several years ago when they had one of their NCAA teams and we came in and beat them pretty handidly. It makes no sense but we seem to play well against them.

Of course, we'll come back and get drilled by the likes of Ball State and Northern Illinois...

Apparently...Kent is 0-everything... men's and women's basketball and volleyball... at the Stroh Center. We needed to relocate the football visiting lockeroom to that facility last year... :)
