Good point, I've gotten so tired of watching him throw shots up at random this year I kind of forgot how much worse his shooting has been this year than it was last year.Globetrotter wrote:Maybe. That's a legit career.
And if he's top 25 in scoring, I bet he's top 10 all time in shots taken.
McLeod: .426
Komives: .437
Thurmond: .431
Thomas: .423
Larranaga: .420
Montgomery: .418
Gerber: .411
Bianchi: .391
For some reason they don't keep all time turn over numbers but McCleod might have been comparable. He was at 3.1 a game his senior year.

I did? Wow...I don't remember that...and I tend to remember great racks. Like the one butterfaced actress Melinda Naud rocked in the late 70's...

We have 41 now in the club
Calhoun has 1162, Good for 28th all time. If he maintains his average he would end up with 1347 19th all time and 9 behind Nate Thurmond for 18th.
Crawford has 1051. Good for 38th all time. If he keeps at his current pace that will put him at 1242 for a career, Good for 25th all time. He would be 3points behind Cornelius Cash, 7 behind Jay Larranaga for 23rd all time and 19 points behind Scott Thomas.
REBOUNDS
Calhoun has 529. He's on pace to end his career around 621, He would pass David Jenkins for 15th all time.
STEALS
Crawford has 165, passing Antonio Daniels for 6th all time. If he stuck with his average he would end with 187, 5th all time and just 6 shy of 4th place, 12 shy of 3rd and 14 shy of 2nd. It's not unreasonable with a run in the tourney that he could be second all time in steals at BG.
ASSISTS
Crawford has 417 placing him 4th all time. If he stuck with his average he would end with 460, 4th all time. He needs 529 for 3rd.
BLOCKS
Black has 88 total. This puts him as 8th on the all time career list. With his average he should finish this season with 99, 6th all time in blocks. If he maintained that average next year as well he would finish second all time in blocks however.....
None of the above are having statistically incredible years that would put them in the all time per year numbers. The exception on the team is newcomer Richaun Holmes. He has 53 already (good for the 2nd best season ever) and is on pace for 85 blocks for the year. That would be the best number ever at BG...or since they have been recording it atleast back to 1972. (I am pretty sure Big Nate would be up there). He is on pace to finish his career with 254 blocks.
The current record for a season is 59. For a career it's 159.

You don't need statistics to tell that Crawford is a below average point guard. All you need is the "eye test."
If you get enough opportuntities, anyone can put up numbers.

Thats an interesting take, but there is a reason he got so many opportunities in the first place and others with similar situations didn't. You can't deny he is a solid player. Inconsistent and out of control sure, but you don't end up on the leaderboard in assists, steals and points by just being on the floor.Rollo83 wrote:You don't need statistics to tell that Crawford is a below average point guard. Hmmmm. How does Crawford stack up to the others in the turnover department? FG%? Shot attempts per minute? Better yet, "team points forgone due to bad decision making"? Guess that last one would be a little tricky to compile.
One point in favor of Calhoun: he had only 3 years to get his points and rebounds. Jenkins and Ruminski had all 4.
