If they are doing their job, Christopher will be gone in August. The problem is the timing, as a decision needs to be made on basketball before that, and it would certainly be better, if the new AD could make that decision. That may be in Orr's favor.BGorDeath wrote:Just remember, Christopher has superiors who may be telling him what to do. His hands could be tied, so don't instantly assume it is all his doing.
The worst part is, we're years away from competing again

Totally agree. We do not need to see another Greg Fundraiser hire in basketball. However, another year of Orr and this thing gets ugly quick.

I don't think Christopher is going anywhere. Football and hockey are on the rise because of the coaches he hired. He got a new basketball arena and money for the Doyt and Ice Arena. One bad hire doesn't cause you to lose your job based on all of the success he has had.factman wrote:If they are doing their job, Christopher will be gone in August. As for the "directionally" comments he made about the program, maybe he was referring to the fact that transfers are down. Besides, he can't say "the program sucks and we are going nowhere." His bosses would kill him.
Now, just remember, I am not disagreeing with you, just saying that I think that is what his superiors are thinking, so don't go mental on me.
I like that steak comes from cows. That is why a cow will not think twice about eating you.

Why anyone takes the comments made by coaches or AD's on topics like a coach's status seriously is beyond me. They aren't going to say what they really think...at best you might get them to admit improvement is needed, but when isn't it? They might just as well stand there and say "Blah, blah ,blah"
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Throw some shoulder shrugging in their, and you have an Orr postgame sermon!Flipper wrote:They might just as well stand there and say "Blah, blah ,blah"

While I agree the Stroh is great, having Louis Orr as your head coach going into it somewhat nullifies the positive impact it could have had. He hasn't forced Orr out of his comfort zone at all. Change assistants, do something to change a stagnant culture. That's what leaders do.

No sense firing all the assistants....it's not enough. Clean house, please.

Oh, I was saying that should have been done at the least after last year.
