"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

This sweep means more, in my opinion, than the wins against ND and Western Michigan. Had we lost either game, and certainly both games, then the wins against ranked opponents would have meant less. To become a good team you need to beat the teams you should beat and then jump up and beat the ones you're not expected to beat. This sweep validates those wins over ranked opponents and is a good indication that this program is certainly headed in the right direction. Lets do it again next week. We owe MSU some payback for that home game in November when they pasted us 6-1 after we beat them 1-0 the night before at Munn. Roll along!

BG was one point back of Northern going into the weekend with Northern on their bye weekend and we took advantage.

BG is now one point back of Lake going into this upcoming weekend, which is Lake's bye weekend. Got to take advantage again

By last sweep in a CCHA series I assume this means a pair of 3-pt victories (ie: no shootout wins)?

Also, according to the box scores at least, almost 6,000 bodies passed through the gates this weekend for the LSSU series. I was only able to listen on the radio but it sounds like there was some great support at the ice arena this weekend!

There were a lot of people there both nights. I really want there to be 3200 people there on Friday! Time to start spreading the word! Undefeated at home since the new year! Let's get some payback from the 6-1 loss last time they came into our building...let's pack the ice arena and get loud and crazy!
Bring back the glory!

I thought the crowds were fantastic on both nights. The reason the students were a bit quiet in the third on Friday is because we pretty much knew we had the victory. Doesn't mean we were not cheering on the team, we were, just not as loud as usual. Call it, conserving our voices for Saturday. Saturday was a different story. I thought we were pretty pumped up and loud. Very exciting to get the sweep. Thanks to all the fans that were there to help out the team.

I'm not sure I like the "You suck, you suck, you suck..." chant as the losing team walked off the ice, but other than that I was pretty happy with the student section this past weekend.
