Ream is a 6'4", 230 pound tight end from Bluffton High School. In his senior season, he caught 53 passes for 635 yards receiving, which was good enough for First Team All-Northwest District and Honorable Mention All-Ohio in Division IV. This was actually somewhat of a disappointment, as in his junior season, Ream was Second Team All-Ohio in Division V.

Bluffton's starting QB died in a car acident last summer. That contributed to why Ream didn't catch as many passes last fall with a new inexperienced quarterback.

The recruiting services didn't like our last two classes very much either. Having said that, I think we all had a sense we had some good players coming in, and I'm a little nervous about this year. But, let's see this what we get. And, I'm not saying our guys can't recruit, etc. But we have had sleeping giants in our conference (Ball, Central, Akron) who can go after guys, not to mention OU, and with Cincy getting top guys we might have gottem (now that they are in a BCS confercence) its a really tough job, every week. And, its tough because they can play right away at those other schools.

Time will tell. I agree with however posted this: You judge a recruiting class when they stand with their parents on the field at their last game.

I am very well aware that Bluffton's quarterback last season, Ricky Matter, tragically passed away in an auto accident. It actually wasn't in the summer, however, but in the winter. My brother's basketball team was scheduled to play Bluffton the evening of Ricky's accident, but of course the game was subsequently cancelled. I continue to send my thoughts out to Ricky and the Matter family. It's horrible to lose such a young, talented athlete to such unfortunate circumstances.

However, I don't think a quarterback change had much, if any, bearing on Ream's stats or accolades. Jarod Davies, a close friend of Ream's, stepped in for Bluffton last season and completed 226 of 356 passes for 2895 yards. This is not shabby by any means and is actually listed on OHSAA's website as the third best passing yard total in all of Ohio high school football last year.

Regardless, I see Ream as a very talented athlete that BG should feel lucky to land. I look forward to seeing Michael donning the brown and orange.

From the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, it says were one of Hall's (three star) final picks:

One of the top uncommitted recruits, defensive end Michael Hall, 6-3, 230 pounds, 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash, is visting Arkansas this weekend. Hall has narrowed his decision to the Razorbacks, Maryland and Bowling Green, but is on the verge of eliminating Maryland. "

Hall was having a banner senior season until he sustained a slight tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the fourth game of the season. Hall had accumulated eight sacks in three games.

Numerous schools, including Georgia Tech and Auburn, were on verge of offering at the time but pulled back following the injury. Hall said he will make his decision today.

per theInsiders/Scout.com . . . WR George Lewis (6-3 1/2 and 4.6 40) fresh off of decommitting to UCLA was in town for an official visit this weekend as was Trevor Frericks a DL in the 6-2 range from Quincy, IL.

Michael Hall visited on 1/14 . . . Scout.com has him as the #62 DE, while rivals has him as the 43 best tight end. This could be the wow guy that bumps this class up significantly.

George Lewis would be nice.... I saw Frericks and Solak at the hockey game. Frericks looked like another Brad Williams type.... maybe a litle undersized for DT, but he doesn't look like a lardass and seemed to carry himself pretty well for a 260 lb HS kid.

I saw a blurb online inone of the PA papers that BG had almost asked OL Shane Steffy to grayshirt ( walk on until maybe Jan 2006) because he had, unbeknownst to the coaches, undergone postseason shoulder surgery. Apparently, Shane's prognosis is good, because the decision was made not to pull his offer for 2005.
