Bracket buster
Bracket buster
We are playing at IPFW in the Bracketbuster February 22 or 23, according to the ESPN site. Probably not a lot of interest, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Re: Bracket buster
Oh boy, do you get auto-fired if you lose to both IUPUI and IPFW in the same season?

Re: Bracket buster
Just 5 minutes from my place. What do you think about that, Pete? BG doesn't doesn't come to Fort Wayne nearly enough for my taste. I would be foolish not to at least consider fitting it into my schedule.

My schedule is open for either day Joe. If BG ends up playing there I would be happy to attend.FortWayneFalcon wrote:Just 5 minutes from my place. What do you think about that, Pete? Re: Bracket buster
It provides an opportunity for mid-majors that have scheduling problems an opportunity for a reasonable non-conference opponent.zete wrote:Meaningless game - Bracket Busters will soon be a thing of the past.
Concerning brackets, this event does more to weed out bubble mid-majors (such Akron) than to showcase their seasons. A true "bracket buster" would pit top mid-majors against the middle of the pack in power conferences. If I was Dambrot, I'd prefer to NOT play this game, which would be a meaningless win and potentially devastating loss for their bubble prospects, and just continue mopping up in the MAC.
Neither of these factors are relevant. The event is about marketing and money. Most mid-majors will stick with this event as long as the financials make sense.
