Extremely disappointing! He is coming off an injury and was expected to compete for the vacancy left by Chris Jones. What the hell is it with our defensive linemen the last few years??? Arrests, suspensions, detections.....come on guys!

No doubt, always seems impossible to have a fully stocked D line since about what 2001?

Anyone know how our class ended up being ranked within the conference and nationally?

Seems like most of the recruiting sites have us at #2, right behind the "team up north".... for awhile 247 site had us at #1, but UT evidently got some late kids that were rated highly. Either way, ON PAPER at least, it looks like one of the best classes I've ever seen at BG.... 11 of the 24 kids were rated as *** (or better) by at least ONE of the sites, with 247 being the most liberal in their ratings...

Nationally, overall, I've seen numbers from the High 70's to low 80's, again just behind UT.
Biggest surprises were that neither KSU nor N..ILL. were able to take advantage of their div.wins with middle of the pack ratings.

I've heard Dave Clawson say it again.....wait and see what happens with these kids in THREE years, not looking at a bunch of 17-18 yr. olds and proclaiming them as superstars now. :-k

The scuds have a habit of signing some rather high profile kids that never make it to campus, or don't last long. Not saying that is bad for them, because they get the added push of having a highly rated class, but it doesn't necessarily produce results a few years down the road. I much prefer the BG thought process and keep them all for 4-5 years. The scud way inflates their recruiting ratings but............

Dieter was a high school senior in 2007 and on the IU scout team two years ago. How much eligibility will he have left: a year?

He was in the South Bend Washington class of 2010. He has 3 years left, did not participate at IU in 2012.
Here is IU link for 2011

I mentioned this on a thread before, but I don't think it "took". Can anyone recall us having a LEFT handed QB before? :-k
