Shots were announced as BG 6, NMU 7 for that period.

Shots are 16-3 in favor of BG.
What's wrong with our goaltending?? 5 goals on just 21 shots last night and now a goal given up on just 3 shots?! Ugh.
The defense has done a great job when it comes to blocking shots, which limits the number of shots the goaltender faces (obviously). Unfortunately, they don't do a great job of tying up the open man which means the shots that do get through are easily tipped, screened, or wide open nets. And with the amount of blocked shots, the goaltenders tend to "relax" a bit. The worst feeling for a goaltender is to see the shot and not feel it hit them.

Of course there's also the case tonight where the puck was shot over the net, bounced off the glass, bounced off the top of the net, hit Burke's back, and "wackily" :smt044 went in the net. Shouldn't have even counted as a shot on goal because it went high, but since it went in it's considered a shot on goal. Same thing with Shea's shorthanded goal. Wasn't going to be counted as a shot on goal, but it went in so it does.

What a great win in front of a packed Ice Arena tonight! The crowd was loud and pretty excited the whole time. The students were engaged, and the team pit together a nice complete game. I thought it was interesting to see the hockey gods even the fluke goals out...

I'm disappointed in the way the game was managed by the press box, though. Several times, the press box played canned music over the students chanting or singing. They also played a lot of canned music rather than having the hockey band play. Also, since when do we play that stupid zombie song instead of the school fight song after goals?

FWIW, I can't stand either the ice arena's choice of music or the bands, but I do prefer the bands.

The athletic dept doesn't control the music, but the ice arena does. It can use some work, as you all have heard.

Still... WE WON!

Are you sure about that? If it's true, it would have been a very easy situation to remedy early in the season.

Saturdays crowd was the biggest I've seen in the Ice Arena in some time. Great atmosphere.

Agreed. I haven't been to too many games this year, but the crowd last night was amazing. Of course, having a fight during the game certainly helped get the crowd into it.

Official attendance was 3872. How about they release the real number.

You are absolutely right pdt1081, we should get to the bottom of this and find out what that real attendance number was. Hey....while we are figuring things out, let's see if we can figure out why you think the marketing department would give us a smaller number. This isn't golf...

There were easily over 4000 if not close to 4500 people there. Not sure why they are under counting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the marketing guy on the ice saying something about a "sellout crowd?" I could very easily be mistaken as I try not to listen to the annoying drivel, but I seem to remember hearing that phrase a couple times. Attendance of 3800 in a building with a capacity of 5000 doesn't make much sense with that particular phrase.

Yes, he said something about it being either the second sellout in a row, or the second of the season. But yes, it was announced as a sellout last night. By looking at the stands, I'd believe it. It looked extremely full.
