Ali Mann Resigns!

Post by Class of 61 »

The shocker on BGSUFALCONS re: Women's BB is that Ali has resigned her asst. coaching job, effective immediately.... WOW! Wonder what happened to cause this to occur? :-k

Not sure why Ali resigned, but my hope is that the team will maintain its unity. Hopefully, they will focus on Miami today and play with intensity. GO FALCONS!

In the pregame, coach said she went home. Perhaps there's an illness in the family.

Then why do they allow speculation? Just come out and say so.

John Wagner posts comments regarding the situation, and says that Roos was not asked any of the circumstances around Mann's resignation. Why not ask those questions? Why not put those questions to bed? This is REALLY odd.

I totally agree. Something very strange about this whole thing. Why would she abruptly resign in the middle of the season? Why is everything so secretive? If its family issues, just come out and say. Everyone would understand. We need Ryan Autullo from the Blade on this story. Do we have another "Toledo Track Coach" type of story in the mist?

Apparently...it's a personal matter. If they discussed it further than that, it would no longer be personal. I don't think i have the "right" to know everything about the lives of BG's coaches, so I'm willing to let it go at that.

I know it doesn't happen often ( ), but thank you for being the voice of reason!! I also wish her all the best and hope things work out for her!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

From what i have read, she never stays put too long. She has done a lot in the last few years. Not that this means anything; just wondering if maybe she left hastily without thinking things through. At any rate, it must be something serious and I hope she doesn't have problems in the future gaining employment. FAlcon Fans were lucky to have her as long as we did -- as a player and asst. coach.

Looks like it was a relationship with a student in the program:

Too bad. I am a huge Ali Mann fan. Hope she lands on her feet.
