He said that it was the second straight night of the "Chuck-a-pucks" selling out.

Ah. Like I said, the drivel gets annoying and I usually don't pay attention. Heard the the "sellout" and thought he was talking crowd.

I don't care what the crowd was announced at, who counted them, or why it might be right or wrong.

What I do know was the place was rockin, and everybody that was there had a great time!

Are you sure about that? If it's true, it would have been a very easy situation to remedy early in the season.
The Ice Arena doesn't control the music. That falls to Athletic Marketing. They have an employee who coordinates the "gameday experience". He is responsible for the script, coordinating PA's, canned music, and the band. Frankly, I'm pretty disappointed in the way it's been handled the last couple of seasons. It seems to me that the canned music often is played over top of crowd cheers, and we've been hearing less and less of our fabulous band.

The crowd was great, but it was not close to Michigan last year... That was the school record for single game attendance, I believe?

Hey....while we are figuring things out, let's see if we can figure out why you think the marketing department would give us a smaller number. This isn't golf...
This isn't unprecedented at BGSU...the football numbers were being under-reported back in 2005. We had a game against Toledo that year that was sold out but they announced 17k in attendance. Other games that year were mysteriously under-counted as well. There were many discussions about this on this very webpage, why the number of butts in seats was greater than the attendance figures given by the athletic department.

agreed, the live band and crowd cheers should never get stepped on by canned music. the band is good, and they're student participation!

that said...the canned music selections are mostly pretty good. except "the hockey song": cute the first time, but it gets reeally old after 15 weeks. that song needs to go the way of neil diamond's "touching me, touching you..."--which has disappeared, post-Jerry Sandusky.
