I'd have to say this will most definitely hurt Akron in the MAC tournament.

What the hell??? Wow. That's just sad and crazy. I honestly feel bad for Akron if this is the case (the rest of the team). He made that team go, no doubt. Well, time to crown Ohio, again. I still thought OU was the team to beat in the tournament despite being swept by Akron (they did blow an 18-point lead at home in one of them). It's Ohio's tournament to lose for sure, and they only need to win two games to do it.

He's severely hobbled himself and his future in basketball and his ability to get his free degree. The next 10 years of his life will be walking against the wind created by doors closing in front of his face.

At what point does it hit him that he let sooooo many people down. Every player on that roster takes it in the ass. Every coach on that staff who put his heart and sole into making that program is completely undercut. How stupid, selfish, and shortsighted can you be to expose yourself (and effectively everyone else) to that sort of legal position. Wow.

Chances are several teammates knew of this. Wondering why nobody put an end to it. Very dumb stuff--- More of the roller-coaster ride for Keith Dambrot.

JD Brookhart, Akron's former football coach and 1st class individual, was victimized by the same kind of stupid s**t.

As a coach, do ever think to stop and say "Stay out of trouble. Don't deal dope. Don't mess with weapons. Don't be violent. The world is at your fingertips."

Live and learn. Hopefully.

Can't speak for the college coaches, but I know when I was coaching Lacrosse with my son at Hudson HS, this was his favorite and NON STOP theme...don't do anything stupid this weekend; avoid getting into trouble because some of your friends want to do something you KNOW is inherently wrong etc.

And guess what? Kids still did stupid things, got into trouble, got suspended from the team etc. Perhaps not as many who MIGHT have copied this were it not for the weekly lectures, but still did it anyway.
A college kid dealing dope, assuming this is proven of course, has NO sympathy from me...he's older than a HS kid obviously, and puts himself at risk for a LONG time, not to mention the damage done to his team as a supposed "leader". Think this didn't help KSU today? (They've been playing better anyway, but I'm guessing this situation didn't help).
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Saw one sign on ESPN2 that said "Akron's season goes up in smoke"...held by a Kent State fan.
