Oh for gods sake, Kent is a 1-win MAC team. BG should and probably will beat them like a rented mule tomorrow. This is a team that BG would beat 98 or 99 times out of a 100.Class of 61 wrote:Though we assume that BG should be favored over Kent, the old adage about how hard it is to beat the same team THREE times in a season could rear its ugly head...[

was told that 3,000 tickets sold since they've been available
(prior to men's game)
that's a great number now for some cheering & "sixth woman" help
lots of orange too not just in bird cage
one 4 minute segment at a time, win first 4 of 1st & 2nd half + lots in between
make shots, defend, rebound, guard -fouls
Have Fun

Don't dismiss the wisdom of '61' even you admit that Kent might win once or twice against us. Could this game (third in one season) be that one game?bgsufalcon24 wrote:Oh for gods sake, Kent is a 1-win MAC team. BG should and probably will beat them like a rented mule tomorrow. Not sure about the rented mule, but I think the Falcons will prevail!

So true. However, the Falcons have come out like gangbusters up 24-4 in the first half...10 min til half time.transfer2BGSU wrote:Don't dismiss the wisdom of '61' even you admit that Kent might win once or twice against us. Now at the half...BG running away with this one, 44-16. Papenfuss leads the way with 11 pts. Stay the course and we'll take on the winner of EMU/WMU In Ctown Wed.

Just as I figured. Kent gave us a game effort last time, and we stunk. This time the roles have likely been reversed.Falconfreak90 wrote:So true. Hopefully we'll be able to get our revenge on Western in the next round.

It's not so tough to beat a really bad team three times in a season and Kent is a really bad team. It wasn't too long ago Kent was BG's main competition in the MAC.

Yeah, Kent was the dominant team in the east division before Miller showed up. Lindsay's teams were never to be taken lightly. It wasn't even that long ago that BG faced Kent in the finals of the MAC tournament. Really sad what has happened to their program.Cap City 7 wrote:It's not so tough to beat a really bad team three times in a season and Kent is a really bad team. Re: BG-KSU
Amazing - it was 74-24 yesterday with about 8 minutes to go, before KSU 'rallied' to get within 41 points. Shocking to think that KSU was pretty good only 2 years ago. they were a total mess yesterday.
Very glad to be playing Western rather than Eastern in the second round. Always nice to get a chance for revenge after a bad regular-season loss. Looking forward to Wednesday!

I know Lindsay's last year was a down year, but how stupid does KSU's AD look now for firing him?bgsufalcon24 wrote:Yeah, Kent was the dominant team in the east division before Miller showed up. That AD has a boatload of problems on his plate.musicman2343 wrote: I know Lindsay's last year was a down year, but how stupid does KSU's AD look now for firing him?
Evidently he let go the women's golf coach. The coach is an alum, and only like a 15 time MAC Coach of the Year. In fact, his teams had won ALL the MAC Championships since 1997. He had a perfect record. The truth has yet to come out about this one.
Add in the men's basketball coach (he goes back to Kelvin Sampson and Indiana with their problems) and their struggles this year.
Unfortunately, it was time for Coach Lindsay to leave. I wish he would have gone out on his own instead of being shown the door.

Re: BG-KSU
Kent's AD must be thanking his lucky stars that the KSU football team had their greatest season ever in 2012, which pretty much grants him a complete pass on everything else until the next school year.
