No surprise here. Semeka Randall's contract was not renewed. She was on final year of 5 year contract.

haha, yeah, nothing too shocking about this one... not sure I could find one person truly surprised by this decision. I'll be interested to see who they bring in for this job - the Ohio program is in shambles and really needs a turnaround in the worst way. Ohio was just painful to watch this season. A 6-win season will do that, though.... Yikes!

Yeah, like Kent State, Ohio has had some decent teams in the recent past, one of which bounced us from the MAC tournament in 2008. Watching those two teams just fall off the map completely this year was tough for the conference. Hopefully OU will land a strong coaching candidate that will get their efforts kick started again.MACfan05 wrote:haha, yeah, nothing too shocking about this one... not sure I could find one person truly surprised by this decision. Re: Randall's contract not renewed
Randall just drove the program to the ground, literally. From what I've heard, an overwhelming majority of former players could not stand playing for her, and are more than happy to see her go. The days of Jennifer Bushby and Jenny Poff seem to be long gone and the talent level of the current team is just not good enough to even compete.... quite sad. Like you said, let's hope they get a good, solid candidate to turn the program around. It certainly went downhill quick.

Ah yes, HoopsFan. I've actually watched her coach that Warsaw team a few times at the Convo (when her daughters were playing). She seems like a class act - she was most certainly welcomed by all at the Convo when coaching the tournament games there. Pretty interesting story.

An Athletic Director let a coach go into the final season of the contract without an extension? What type of an AD would do such a thing?!?!
I am shocked.
