If Louie Orr hurries he can still make it to Rome. I understand the Pope position has not been filled yet.

Not only did Christopher hire Orr twice, he opened a new building with the most boring, least personable coach you could find. Total waste of 6 years. The extension was a complete joke. The idea that Orr was allowed to coach after last season is a joke. The idea that Stone, Twigg, Hopson, and the bench secretary kept jobs for this season was a joke. Find your balls Mr. Christopher.

Look, he isn't saying his job status is in god's hands. He is saying his life is.

When looking at coaching hires, don't forget volleyball and swimming. I don't like what has happened to men's basketball, but I don't think it is fair to peg Christopher as just a fundraiser.

If Orr is brought back I propose we change the name of the basketball forum to the "ghost town".

Not saying volleyball was not a good hire, but just remember that all those ladies were recruited and came to BG because of Coach Vanderwalle. I'll reserve judgement for a few years. Coach Orr won a division with someone else's players too!

I literally just spent 5 minutes glancing at Ergers, Holmes and Crawfords page. All 3 mention God. I am beginning to see how much religion permeated the recruiting and atmosphere here. I don't care what religion you are, do whatever you want with your own time, but I did not realize how imbedded it was in the program. Lets get an atheist in here who can recruit basketball players.

Globetrotter, religion has been the foundation of this program since Lou got here. It's how BG recruited. Well that and "it's a marathon and not a sprint."

Didn't Maybleen (Milford kid) mention Orr's faith as a reason he is coming to BG?

Count me among the clueless as well. I knew that Orr was a super religious man. I knew that he talked about God in every interview he ever had. It annoyed me that they'd ask him basketball questions and instead get answers about God. It annoyed me that he preached his religious rhetoric on the radio every single time he was ever on air.

I still was oblivious to the fact that it could also have been a huge issue with our ability to recruit. It does make sense that only those that are as into the religion as he is.

Obviously we can only speculate, but it is certainly worth speculation.

Regardless of his religion or anything else, I just want him gone from BG. He has proven, over 6 years, that he has no idea how to build a winning basketball team, or even build a team that plays entertaining basketball.

I had no idea. I assumed he was just a religious man and that lead to some very good morals and values that resonated. Literally 3 out of 3 players I looked at mentioned God in their last day of tweets. I personally think Gods pretty cool and religion is pretty awful. In my line of work if I let either of those opinions shine through I would be doing a horrible job.
