Attention Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holders and Donors
This is a plea to all BGSU Men’s Basketball Season Ticket holders and donors to save your money and send a message to this university and its administration that you WILL NOT support this trash of a program. If the university does not care about the state of the program, then why should you? This decision to keep Louis Orr is a slap in the face to us all, as the university will continue to ask for your money and ask for your purchase of season tickets while not giving a care about the product they put on the floor. They are using you!
If the decision was made because of all the budget cuts, then that decision is VERY short sighted. They are not factoring in, or don’t care about us, the fans and supporters and the money THEY ARE GOING TO BE LOSING by letting this joke and embarrassment of a basketball coach continue to head this program. So let’s show them that we will not stand for this sort of crap and not just be robots and continue to give them the money they apparently are thinking they will be getting anyways.
Spend your money on something else that you might feel appreciated for spending it on or get something good in quality. You won’t get that with BGSU Men’s Basketball. Instead you’ll get shoulder shrugs, talking about god when all you want to here is why the team just lost to a 3-18 team and absolutely mind numbing, boring basketball games. You will also get an administration that just wants your money and wants you to spend money while at the games, but gives ABSOLUTELY NO CARE in the product they are providing you.
Here's a question; If BGSU was selling goods, would you continue to buy that good if every single year that good continually gets worse and worse and worse and worse and worse and worse (was that 6 worses????). Would you be dumb enough to continue to buy that good? I wouldn’t, and I bet many of you wouldn’t either. BGSU would be out of business in months, if not weeks. Time to show Dr. Mazey and BGSU that if they WON'T CARE FOR THIS PROGRAM, WE WILL!!

Maybe, just maybe, Dr Mazey, didn't want the current AD hiring a new basketball coach. I'll believe that until I see this extension stooges is talking about.

I did not attend a men's game this season and I doubt I will attend a men's game next season. With that being said, my giving to other parts of the University will not stop. The actions of this team have no bearing on my support of gymnastics and Men's Chorus.

If I spend 30 going to a game on seats food and parking. It only takes 5600 of me to go to a game to get back 168000.CrazyFan wrote:This is a plea to all BGSU Men’s Basketball Season Ticket holders and donors to save your money and send a message to this university and its administration that you WILL NOT support this trash of a program. Not sure there are 350 left!

Glad you could do what you're doing...I took a hard line. I cut off all donations, both athletic and academic, until he's gone. It's the Journey... wrote:I did not attend a men's game this season and I doubt I will attend a men's game next season. Otherwise, they don't hear you.
Re: Attention Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holders and Don
I have absolutely no problem with supporting those quality programs. My point was to urge caring men's basketball fans to not give anymore money to that program or buy anymore season tickets until the university acts like they care about that program. With them leaving Orr in charge, they are making a clear statement that completely crap basketball is acceptable, but will still expect people to give them money to support the program they don't care about and expect people to buy season tickets to the program they don't care about. It's a complete farce. It's the Journey... wrote:I did not attend a men's game this season and I doubt I will attend a men's game next season. Re: Attention Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holders and Don
I will continue to give to football, but I am not giving to basketball any longer until either progress or a change occur. One or the other, or both. And it pains me to say it, coming from someone who once volunteered as a student to be involved with this program I very much love. But as things stand now, I am basically paying to frustrate and more or less torture myself, and I won't stand for it any longer. Since my school won't make a change, then I will. It may not make a huge dent, but at least I will have a clear mind that I am not feeding into the unacceptable state of this so-called program. As for when I get my letter, email or phone call to renew, I will be more than happy to explain why I will be declining. I will give back again in the future, but only if and when progress or a change have occurred.

You have a much higher chance of Christopher leaving voluntarily than you do of him not getting his extension.
Re: Attention Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holders and Don
I wish I could do this guys. I really do hope that I can bring myself to not buy tickets, but I don't know if I'll be able to. I'm more pissed off at the program right now than I can imagine. It's a complete and total slap in the face to all of us that have supported this program year in and year out.
I don't wanna hear about this BS budget either. If you're running your athletics with an eye on the university budget as a whole you shouldn't have athletics. If you aren't going to run athletics with the budget necessary to do what it takes to win, you shouldn't have athletics. Moreover, if they actually make a commitment to winning I don't think buying out this worthless coach is a money losing endeavor anyhow.
Such a joke...but in the end I'm afraid I'll still end up renewing my tickets just because it's what I always do.

I am EXACTLY in hammb's position. I was sick to the core when I heard that no change would be made. I feel taken advantage of and frustrated that many of us seem to care more about having a quality product on the floor and creating an exciting atmosphere in our new state of the art arena than the administration does. I REALLY do look forward to spending 3 hours a couple times a week going to those games and lounging in the Anderson Club and I cringe at the idea of giving that up in spite of what I'm subjected to. I know that most times at the Stroh we are going to win, but I find myself sitting in my seat aggravated because we just came off a 3 game losing streak and we will get right back on another after they win at home. So therefore the program is permanently stuck in neutral in spite of the winning percentage at home. I find myself unable to generate any enthusiasm as a result. Yet here I sit, contemplating sending the email to the president and Greg Christopher informing them of my decision to pull my season tickets. It SHOULD be an easy decision to pull my 2 Anderson Club tickets, but sadly it is not.

Do it! I really want to know if we can get to a tally of 168K just with Ay Zig membership.bg1984 wrote:I am EXACTLY in hammb's position.
