Re: Bergeron on USCHO Live!
I enjoyed the podcast as a whole, good interview with coach Bergeron. It was interesting, before they got to the Bergeron interview, they threw Rico Blasi's name out as a potential coaching candidate for the Boston University job. If Blasi were to accept the job at BU, that would open a can of worms in BG.
Re: Bergeron on USCHO Live!
I thought the same thing when I heard some scUM fans mention Rico as a potential candidate if/when Red Berenson retires or dies.
Du hockey comme dans le temps!
Re: Bergeron on USCHO Live!
I really don't think that is an area of concern for us. First, Bergeron is literally rebuilding this program from almost the ground up. Everything is changing around the program. Second, Blasi is definitely not a fit at BU. Third, UM is going to want someone with championship experience. By championship experience I mean actually winning one. Whether it be as a coach at the NCAA, USHL, NHL, or even OHL level, or as a player in the NCAA, NHL, AHL, etc. Blasi hasn't won a championship game. And with the alumni that have come from either school, I doubt he's more than a blip on the outside of their radar.Freddie wrote:I thought the same thing when I heard some scUM fans mention Rico as a potential candidate if/when Red Berenson retires or dies.
I could, however, see a certain BG Alum be considered by either school. That Alum has completely built a winning program in the NAHL since he left here.

I'll be very surprised if BU hires outside the family but I also think it won't be long before we see Dennis Williams moving far up the ladder from the NAHL.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.
