Re: One thing is for certain....
It is hard for this to be fun when our basketball program is going from bad to worse. Three years ago I stated respectfully, but without fun that the program was spiraling into an abyss and Orr should be released. I take no pleasure in anyone getting fired, even Brandon. But this program hasn't been fun in the last 7-8 years and we can either share our displeasure, accept losing or turn away completely. I choose to share my displeasure as an alumni of this school, which once in the past had a proud moments on the basketball court. I would like to experience that again, and I am not getting any younger. I can't wait another 45 years, i probably won't be around.

The number one thing I don't want is for people to not feel comfortable coming here to talk about BG.

No...he is NOT. I know the person who is because when I was a mod I could run a check on what people posted under what ISP address. Bobcat and another user had the same ISP address...that user was not RUIT. RUIT knows who this person is...Grant knows...I know....not sure who else knows.
Well there's one person who knows because he's that person...

Are sports that important...really? My wife and daughter are important....watching my daughter grow as a person and musician is important...my work is important...sports are fun time. Does BGSU athletics really have a bearing on our self image?
Porn is important...why isn't that my work?
I don't really need an answer to that

Oh Flipper, you and all you're knowledge of all this topic secret stuff on here. You just can't get enough of that one, can you. For anyone who cares to know, it was my cousin. He was living with my wife and I about several years ago after he graduated from OU while interning in Cleveland. I hashed it out with him, and Grant, and he was done with it. Funny enough, someone on here was sad to see him go and started posting with the username 0hiobobcat with the first character being a zero and not an O. No idea who that was, but maybe the great detective Flipper knows who that was too. Sorry to burst your several-year top secret bubble on that one. Proceed.Flipper wrote:No...he is NOT. I am connected to bg basketball and give it some of my time. For whatever reason I have a passion for BG sports. Is it more important then my wife, hell no, but it is a passion so it is important and when I see it just explode all over itself I get upset. It's like when I saw the movie twilight, I didn't care that it was terrible. I had no connection and I assumed it would be horrible and bad. But BG reminds me of Star Wars episode 1. It could have been so great and ended up so dissapointing. Does it affect the concrete parts of my life, no, but I can still be pissed.Flipper wrote:Are sports that important...really? WTF is your problem? 24 brought it up and tagged the wrong person so I corrected him. I could have outed you years ago if I wanted to be a dick about it and didn't because you quit posting....yes you quit posting....as bobcat (That "someone else was on my computer" dodge was played 10 years ago.) Besides..aren't you more comfortable posting as an OU fan out in the open?

I don't know...I guess I just don't get that emotionally invested in the wins and losses. I have a lot of great memories tied to sports, but they're usually driven by the circumstance surrounding them and the people I was with at the time. I saw the Tigers win the pennant on the last day of the season in 1987....drove up and bought tickets from a scalper with two of my brothers. That's what made it great...I was there with my brothers

Never went to see twilight....I was waxing poetic....I have been watching 2 different twilight movies the last couple hours though.....they are poor. I wish something else was on.h2oville rocket wrote:You went to see "Twilight"?:shock:Globetrotter wrote:I am connected to bg basketball and give it some of my time. I don't have a problem with it at all, calm down Sally. There's nothing to "out" as that's exactly what happened and it was dealt with years ago. With him and Grant. I just find it humorous that you claim to know something you clearly do not and continue with it for years. Believe whatever you want, but if you're going to be a dick about things, do so with facts, and not things you think you know. There's a big difference between the two and you only make yourself look more like an ass in doing so.Flipper wrote:BGSU33 wrote:Oh Flipper, you and all you're knowledge of all this topic secret stuff on here. I do believe this sums up most of us who post on this site. We may express ourselves with a lot of passion about the subject, but we have our lives in perspective.Globetrotter wrote:I am connected to bg basketball and give it some of my time. There's no rule that says you can't be extremely passionate about your hobbies or interests (like BG sports) but still maintain a strong perspective on what's most important in life.
I do not see anyone here saying that they are putting their lives ahead of their interest in BG basketball and I only see one or two posters presuming that this is the case because they (apparently) think they can discern someone's priorities from messages posted on an Internet site.
As already noted, the news that Orr would be maintained came as just one more piece of crap in a crapfest of a season (hell a crapfest of too many seasons). It struck most of us the wrong way...so we've been venting.
It tends to be what humans do. And in the Internet Age, they do it on sites like this. People who flee from this site because they find it too intense should probably find tamer topics to follow than sports.
The word fan is derived from fanatic for a reason.

And the point of this site is to share an experience. I try to explain why bringing back coach Orr is to my friends here was so God awful program destructive and they just don't get it. My wife looks at me like an idiot.BGWriter wrote:I do believe this sums up most of us who post on this site.
