And globe...don't take this as criticism because it's not...entirely...but I think you give me a run for the gold medal in being overly sensitive to criticism...

I didn't take it as criticism until you told me not to take it as criticism. Kind of like saying "no offense" then saying something that isn't offensive. Mind blower. Try it. "No offense but I really like your haircut". When you get people searchng for the offensive issue that they don't see it's great.Flipper wrote:And globe...don't take this as criticism because it's not...entirely...but I think you give me a run for the gold medal in being overly sensitive to criticism...
In regards to my over sensitivity, I have no problem owning that. I am completely bi-polar when it comes to sports. You won't hear from me unless the sky is falling or being built to extreme excellence. Unless it's mapping out what should happen with the squad for next year.
I actually don't think I have been that bad this year in either basketball or football. I just found football boring and this basketball decision to keep Orr is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen.
When I look back at my posts from years back I cringe. (Lets get rid of those with the reboot)

This highlight real is amazing

This is what can be. You can't tell me that wouldn't make the University 168K somehow.
If we can't buy out 168K we are in trouble. Look at the salaries at other schools.

Wind the clock back to 2006. We had suffered through Dakich II, Larranaga didn't influence many BG diehards, Dakich was crude, and here we get a chance to "land" a big time winning coach. http://www.maplewoodonline.com/matters/orr/
Except for the winning, coach Orr hasn't changed much from this article. I wonder who did his recruiting? http://www.gobearcats.com/sports/m-bask ... rge01.html
Yep. GJ probably held the team together as the SANE coach.

Ha! Not my site anymore... So, while I played my share of Zelda in college, that post was written by the owner/manager of the site, Jeff Sankovich, AKA Bassdrummin here on the site.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Grant you were/are a fan of the Legend of Zelda?ZiggyZoomba wrote:http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/2013/03/ ... et-button/

Re: One thing is for certain....
The only thing missing around here is a thread or post about who is a "REAL" Falcon fan which of course could spiral out of control a few different ways such as "REAL" Falcon fans who attend X thousand games wouldn't stand for the state of the program as it is now or "REAL" Falcon fans who donate X amount of money will be there no matter what root for the school.
The tone may be angrier but I can remember being just as pissed at Jim Larranaga and his lack of winning in the MAC tourney as I am at Orr. With Coach L's teams we were in the conversation and could never pull the trigger which is frustrating. At least in this situation we know that change will come and it is much easier to restart, reload, and become contenders again in hoops than football or hockey.
Anyone else remember the USF Sheriff character? Those were some weird times but interesting to see the path that program has taken when compared to our football program.
I also think I may have spotted Schadenfreude in DC hopping on a Metro train after the Military Bowl, but alas he was gone in the blink of an eye.
So there's an incoherent post for you to chew on.

Another thing I've often wondered about on here is how many people that I know in "real life" post on here and I haven't "outed" yet and also how many people know who I am but I don't know that they know.

Re: One thing is for certain....
While I ended up disappointed that DD wasn't able to bring the program back to his glory days and Jim L. never reached the potential we thought was there, they both had excitement during the tenure, especially the 99-00 season when we were absolutely robbed of an at-large bid. Larranaga beat MSU for their first ever loss at the Breslin Center and Kentucky at Rupp along with a couple of other BiG wins. Dakich had a number of them too agains the Big Ten. So while those coaches never reached the pinnacle (NCAA Tourney) - they made it fun - for the most part.
Coming from Detroit, the last four years feel like being a Lions fan during the Millen tenure...the worst feeling I ever had as a sports fan. This comes incredibly close. I gave up on the Lions two years before Millen was finally fired. I hope BG wins every game next year, but I will not be involved one bit until a change is made (or I'm proven wrong, and for three years I've hoped I'd be wrong each year). And while I would never root for anyone to beat Bowling Green the white flag has been raised.
A fan, supporter and alum of all things Orange and Brown, with the exception of BG Men's Hoops.
Go BG!

One things needs to be remembered around these parts, players and parents don't think the way we the fans do. You guys really think Clarke, Holmes, and Sealy are walking around campus thinking their talents are going to be wasted next year. No, those three are thinking they are going to turn things around next year.
Players and parents aren't thinking what we thinking, and aren't thinking whats being said around these parts. If they were there would be mass transfers, and there haven't been, and I doubt there will be.
I posted the "transfer" thing. Its purpose was to be a rhetorical expression of anger AND to point out that it may make sense for them as individuals to seek another program. Also, I was aware of the basic absurdity of an anonymous message board poster advising 3 kids he doesn't know to transfer. I'm genuinely floored that so many people have taken it so seriously.
All three of them have the potential to play professionally overseas. What happens with them over the next couple years will have a big effect on whether that happens.
'Cincy, you bring up a fun point though. Orr will not be able to play Crawford, Krauss, and Erger and will be forced to play better players. Due to that alone, he may fall into the pit of success next year.
On that note, what would need to happen next year for Orr to keep his job? I would think that anything short of winning the MAC East would be inadequate.
