Started off with some bad missed shots and turnovers, but they're finding their pace. BG is getting some open looks at threes and that has helped them get back in after the slow start. BG 15 Drex 12 with 7:46 in the first.

Just read on facebook that Jennifer Roos said that she would pay for any student admission fees beyond the 300 free tickets allotted, so all students are free tonight. How about that?

Ball State is facing Kansas State and Toledo is playing Illinois as our game is going on...the possibility for 3 MAC teams in the round of 8 still exists.

So I was wrong. First team to 50 won. Solid effort. Good season.

Nice crowd tonight. Good to see a very diverse crowd of regulars. some folks coming in for a round three WNIT match and plenty of students. Students were well involved. Thanks to all the students who came to the game. Nice work volleyball team

Problem was we faced almost a mirror like team in Drexel whose star made some big plays offensively. It was just enough to win the game. Big turn came very late w a charge call taking away a BG basket (correct) and then a block call resulting in an and one for Drexel (very questionable) next trip down. This five point turn was crucial. Still we got a good look at a go ahead three later etc. Just didn't go down. We started slowly in both halves which kind of hurt us w getting the crowd fully in.

But we played hard and I congratulate all the team members and coaches. 24-11 without any minutes from your best on ball defender and best returning pure perimeter scorer. Plus a first year head coach and staff. Plus a serious distraction. Very very good season at 24-11.

Next year you have Rogers back. Stein who made great progress perhaps spelled by incomer Siefker. You have Donovan who is a player and Kansas frosh Kennedy. You have two excellent sophs in Justinger and Carinduff smarter and stronger. Halfhill and Salinas. And I think our incoming PG from Illinois will be a very definite factor. And Mathews- a proven player. Plus Hoeckstra. So we have plenty returning to work with- and plenty coming in.

With a strong off season of weight room etc and a year under our belt w this excellent staff, I would say the future is bright indeed.

Well, the season is over. Pretty good showing. Can we start next season now?

I just remembered it was a swell 4 years with Danielle, because I remember visiting with her in her sitout year and the 3 seasons after. Jill Stein was making 3's in practice, but when the game came, she didn't even attempt one. I hope Jas and Jill and Lex heal over the off-season and that Katrina and Jillian get even better at handling the ball for next season. I hope our 3-point shooters get better at taking those shots instead of passing the ball. It gets annoying to see shot clock violations. And, I hope our incoming players get some playing time next year and make an impact.

Now I guess it's time to reset the board See you all in the summer or next fall.

Man, Drexel can play some serious D. I don't think we had more than 10 pts in the paint all night. Great effort but came up just short. 24-11? If that is our worst, we are doing just fine.

Freakling2 and I had a great time with Falcon Fanatic and we're looking forward to another great season next year.

Wow Thanks everyone for all the great posts. There are some people wanting to play tomorrow. It was a great season 24-11 and the seniors won 103 games in their careers at BG same number as '07 team Sweet Sixteen in two different tourneys.

Next BiG crowd is the banquet April 14. The coaching staff and some of the players will get another experience of overwhelming support for this program.
