BG track knocks off UT!!!!
A pleasant surprise ..... BG's women "tracksters" edged Toledo 93- 90 by winnng the final relay race handily...some good performances by a very young BG squad in rather horrid conditions... (see pic of steeplechase on BGSUFALCONS site)

Sounds like it was a heck of a meet. Always good to beat tsun no matter what sport. Anyone know why there were no dual meets between the two schools since 2000? GO BG!

Kind of surprised that's the case but track is going the way of golf to some extent- lots of big relay meets and prep for nationals in lieu of duals against rivals. UT did not run several of their top distance people yesterday. Looks like BG ran most of their best athletes since Pettigrew ran but I'm not sure about their distance people. No more days of throwing everyone out there and risking injury or overwork. When I ran we had almost all dual or tri meets and everybody ran. Hasley Crawford ran in dual meets and then won Olympic gold in the 100. Much more strategic placement of athletes these days. UT runs nothing but second teamers in the annual BG-UT x-country meet, or they did under the reign of he who 's name shall not be mentioned. It's all about peaking your big people at the end of the season.Falconfreak90 wrote:Sounds like it was a heck of a meet. Always good to beat tsun no matter what sport. Excuses.......excuses..........excuses!
I believe BG held a few of their "better athletes" also. I didn't see the name Pledger in any of the throws either!

I wondered why we took some of the throws. We haven't had throwers in years. I'm not as familiar with the field event people at BG. No excuses, we lost running who we ran against who BG ran- Freak asked a question, I answered it. You got a better answer?factman wrote:Excuses.......excuses..........excuses!

BTW, the fact is you will NEVER see the name Pledger in the points column. In fact, there is no one by that name on BG's roster. And that's a fact.

You need to let go of this asinine and annoying fixation you have with people's spelling....I tend to think most errors are the result of autocorrect functions anyway....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
