BG wins 5-2, over Western Michigan, and finishes 16-4, 5-3 MAC...the best record ever for BG tennis. BG concludes the regular season in a tie for second place, and the Falcons will be the number-two seed for next weekend's MAC Championships.
Second-seeded BGSU will face the UA-UB winner, while #1 seed Miami will meet the BSU-WMU survivor in Saturday's (April 27) semifinal round. The semifinal-round winners will meet in the championship match on Sunday (April 28).
Congrats to Coach Dean and the program...that is a heck of a year and the MAC seems like a strong league.

BGSU-12 TIME MAC CHAMPION
FALCON FOOTBALL ROCKS!
freak, great example of solid coaching and excellent play and leadership from seniors. While we have a couple of standout juniors, that senior group has really led the way. I hope we win the MAC (a strong league indeed), but no matter what happens, BG tennis has had an incredible year. In my opinion, Coach Dean is MAC Coach of the Year. If named, that would make four coaches of the year in Tomic (unofficial as she was jobbed by the other volleyball coaches in one of the worst snubs ever in that type of voting), Beach and Martin. And I am watching the performances of our golf teams closely. Young and Farrell will get some consideration in that voting also.
600 wins for Coach Schmitz. A little bowl game action. Two WNIT wins. Hockey moving. Fresh air in the soccers. Field athlete will be an All American. Quite a year really.
