Third player right up the street at Owens to go D1 and the Falcons end up with none of them
Retic Commits
Re: Retic Commits
Louis Orr is a heck of a recruiter. One player from NY area in seven seasons (5ppg in high school). Zero players from Cincinnati since Jackson left. Talk of just not using available scholarships. In Orr we trust. We trust that making hotel reservations in Cleveland in mid-March is not necessary.
Re: Retic Commits
Leslie "Chef" Irvine is listed on the website as the sport administrator for the men's basketball program and is still on staff. She presumably sits down with the head coach and conducts his annual evaluation. She comes from a successful coaching background, albiet in a different sport. Still, you would think she knows the importance of recruiting in building and sustaining success in a program.
Is this ever brought up?
We've had Orr recruits leave due to legal issues before and after they've arrived on campus. We've had recruits come in as such long-shot developmental projects that they depart before seeing any time. Oddly enough, his greatest successes have come from recruits with little to no other Division I offers while our more highly regarded players languish on the bench.
Competitive MAC programs bring in talent, develop talent and retain talent. We can't seem to consistently do any of the three, but hey, it's not like this is Division I or anything.
