I can't even begin to think about that....especially if it happened from being run over by a fan after playing a career game. I hope and pray this is not true, I'm just afraid it might be.

I overheard a player say "Fitch tore his ACL." I'm really hoping it was a guess, and not an official MRI result.

<WishfulThinking>

Maybe the player was referring to his original injury, not his current injury?

What do you mean? Do you KNOW that such info will be in tomorrow's Blade?

I know a few of the sports information directors at The Blade and an annoucement was suppose to be printed tonight. He would not tell me what it was? Just look in The Blade. If you trust my credibility, I was also the same person that broke the early news about the suspensions on the hockey team.

Lets just drop the whole fan thing. "The fan" and Fitch talked...appologies were made and accepted so lets drop that and pray for Germain. If this rumor is true, he will need people to be there for him, not worrying about who ran into him...

Amen. Keep Germain in your thoughts and prayers. What's done is done and now it's time to be the family BG is known for.

Here is what the Blade has this morning:

Fitch's status uncertain
BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green junior forward Germain Fitch had an MRI on his right knee yesterday, and his status for Thursday's game against Akron - and the rest of the
season - remains uncertain.

Fitch injured the knee when a fan jumped on him from behind in the celebration following the home victory over Toledo on Jan. 22.

He did not play the following Wednesday at Central Michigan, then played just 1:07 at Ohio Saturday before he left that contest.

"[Fitch] had a black-and-blue mark on the hamstring after the Toledo game," Dakich said. "Whatever happened there hasn't healed, and that's when we decided to get the MRI. I have a bad feeling right now because I don't know [his status]."

Also, Germaine was on the radio show last night and said he probably wouldn't get the results of the MRI until last night or today.

Well I told you something would be in the Blade today. Not the news I was hoping for. I have had several MRI's and you know the results pretty quickly. So I am thinking a few things. 1. So either something is wrong and they just have not announced it yet. 2. Looking at a second opinion 3. A few more games out and he will be ok, but Dakich doesnt want to announce anything with the 2 tough home games he have coming up.

I really think even if Fitch is able to play this week that he should be rested until the Toledo game. I think with the crowd support and playing at home we should be able to win our next 2 games without him. So lets just rest him if he is able to play. A healthy Fitch going into Toledo is much better than a tired one.

I'm not saying it was the "fan's" fault....accident's happen. I'm saying if that's how it actually happened, it's a real shame. It would also have been a shame had he stepped and slipped on a wet leaf or some ice outside and injured himself. The bottom line is, he's injured again – and that is a real shame.....no matter how it happened.

I wasn't directing that statement at you but rather everyone. I knew what you meant but you were the last to mention the fan though so I quoted you.
