The Most Interesting Thing To Me From MAC Media Day

Post by ZuluWarrior »

Three year starting senior QB not included in the trip to Detroit.

My guess is that Clawson is either trying to fire up his qb to start leading more or there isn't a great deal of faith in his leadership. I hope it's the first, although you tie this in with the fact that he's not a captain and I'm more concerned than ever. I believe Schilz will have a very good year and he'll need to as our season will live or die at QB.

Or will he be the starter? Pretty odd IMO.

Maybe Schilz is in back in California visiting with family before camp. He's been twice already and thought he'd let one of his senior linemen go. I just don't think it's that big of a deal.

I'm kind of glad Schilz wasn't there. It let Clawson deal with the QB questions and didn't make Matt answer the same things about a poor 2012 and fighting for his job in 2013. It also made the reporters talk to Martin about how good the defense was / is going to be and Flewellyn talk about the line's good play.

Schilz is not a captain. That is the soul reason he did not go. Probably a good thing, given the questions he would have got.

It is no secret that Schilz had a bit of a down year last year. If he were at the media days events it would have been a personal and a team distraction, neither of which are needed right now.

The OL and the defense carried the team last year...it's only fair that they should be representing the team at media day.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
