The CFL has signed a deal with ESPN to broadcast quite a few games on ESPN2 this summer (including 7-25 Edmonton at Montreal, so far kind of a dud of a game), every game on ESPN3, and a handful on NBC Sports.
In my opinion, it's a great version of gridiron football, competitive, fast (20 second play clock), wide open (3 downs, 65 yard wide field) and features a fair number of "Imported" players you'd recognize.

The Arena football league took many ideas from the CFL; especially the forward motion stuff on the part of WR's or RB's... CFL scores are usually in the 40's and up...based on my past experience of watching them...though I didn't see the game you referred to.

Love it, except I hate the Riders. They've always played the "Canada's Team" card and sucked, and now that they're kind of good, their fans are insufferable.
Tonight: Calgary at Winnipeg. 8PM. ESPN3. Root for Calgary, because it helps my beloved Hamilton Tiger-Cats (or don't, they're both free countries).
Calgary has players from CMU and Akron. Winnipeg has players from CMU and Western (Ontario! Go Mustangs!)

Corner Gas was my favorite Canadian show...better than the Trailer Park Boys because if I'm watching an episode and my 11 year-old daughter comes along I don't have to shut it down. Plus, it's my contention that the Lacey vs. Karen debate is Canada's answer to Ginger vs Mary Ann or Bailey vs Jennifer.
Growing up in NW Ohio, I watched a fair amount of sports on the CBC via channel 9 out of Windsor. I always thought the CFL was cool because they allowed forward motion before the snap....it took awhile to get adjusted to that whole rouge thing though. Great team names like the Argonauts, Alouettes, Blue Bombers and of course, the Roughriders. So far as who should win.....anybody but Edmonton. Saw enough of that in the 70's and 80's to last a life time.
