Posing as a potential buyer, I asked the seller of this ring a few questions about the stone. He said that the stone being blue is how he bought it from a "jewler" and that if it wasn't an original ring, it was news to him. He thanked me for bringing this to his attention though.
Just thought you all might want to know this info.

Maybe the seller should look at some of the other rings he's sold (Kentucky, Rutgers and osu) and realize their logos are all on the stones. It seems to be a common theme for college team to do that so why would we leave ours off?

I personally like the osu big 10 championship ring where one side says big 10 champs and the other says NRA and has a picture of a guy shooting a rifle...

Which at first glance shows that it would be from the rifle team.
The OSU logo shows that it could be from the football team, as well. I love the "obscuring" of the name, too. Does anyone else clearly see "BROWN" there?
