You guys should be pretty amped up for this game. It is not common for you to get to play a team of the caliber of Tulsa at your own place for a OOC game. Its the best home ooc opponent you have had since Boise State in 2009.

Oh and if you even think Tulsa is comparable to Boise...well that shows what kind of education you're getting in Oklahoma.

Don't all schools fan bases live in the past? I mean so our back to back top 25 seasons should mean nothing or the fact out of the last 6 seasons we have won at least 10 games 4 times, with one of those years us going 8-5 because we lost to 4 top 10 teams and BYU. We are not the program that hasn't been good since 2003.

And Tulsa beat a whopping three ranked teams in those ten years, so its not really a rousing endorsement that you could beat up mediocre teams in Conference USA year after year.

We drove all the way down to Mobile back in '08 and we had a great time until kickoff. That was the worst BG game experience I every had...not to mention the longest ride home ever!

I don't want to just beat Tulsa, I want BLOOD!! :smt067

I don't hold any ill will against Tulsa for that game, just towards Graham for being a douchebag and running up the score with his QB to just break records. Apparently he also pissed off everyone at Tulsa with his recent leaving so I guess in the end, it evened out. Plus, no one from either school who played in that game is with their teams anymore, so its just water under the bridge. Its a fun "rivalry", but we're not gonna be seeing these guys again in the near future unless its in a bowl game, which is why I laugh at their fans coming on here acting like they're some huge program. It would be awesome to beat these guys, but I'm more concerned about Week 2 at Kent State.

That GMAC Bowl has no bearing on this year's game. I flew to Pensacola and drove to Mobile...the flight back was very long as well. Jp is right...there is nobody associated with either team from that game. OTOH, I still wanna crush these guys for not returning the home and home in 1990...and ahole fans like dirty who continues to run his piehole.

Our cats are ready and they better be cuz Tulsa is a very good team. But not in our house...

I just want to win no matter by how little or how much. We all know Tulsa whopped the hell out of us in the bowl a few years ago, but me personally, I would much rather lose where it's no doubt like that than the way we lost to Idaho in the bowl. Now that was heartbreaking. Losing to Tulsa in the bowl sucked, but the better team clearly won and there were no excuses afterwards. But losing to Idaho REALLY sucked, because we woulda, coulda, shoulda won that game. When Freddie Barnes caught that TD at the end I thought it was a magical moment and a fitting end. But in a matter of a few seconds and a couple plays, we went from an extreme high to utter heartbreak. IMO, that sucked a helluva lot more than the Tulsa loss.

I know we played Tulsa much tougher a couple years ago in the game at their place, and I hope we win on the 29th, but I'm already way more concerned about the game after that in Kent State. Winning non-conference games are great, and you often need to in order to get to a bowl at the end of the year. But I want to win a MAC Championship so damn bad I would trade all of our non-conference games to do so. It's been over 20 years. So let's go out there and beat Tulsa. But come August 30th, win or lose that game isn't likely going to matter as much in the big picture if we have the kind of season we're hoping to.

If we go 1-11, I would want that 1 win to be Tulsa. Can't stand this team's fanbase.

The flight from Mobil to Dallas for a connecting flight back to Fort Wayne was no picnic either. As you can imagine, there were more than a few Tulsa fans on that flight. No taunting occurred, but I was very happy to leave Dallas behind that day.

We must BEAT Tulsa!

I wouldn't mind us running up the score a little as payback for the Bowl debacle. On the other hand, the parade the night before was kinda fun. But time to get serious and get off to a great start.
There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!
