Yep. Tie player payments directly to revenue generated and Phil Knight will buy $100 million worth of Oregon stuff before the ink is dry. They either have no idea what they're doing or they know exactly what they're doing.

SEC just announced today that they're done licensing the conference name and logo to EA Sports. Schools can individually license if they want to.

How is what EA Sports doing any different than the networks, newspapers, radio, etc profiting from the players likenesses? The same thing happens at the local level with high school sports.

If a Big 10 or PAC-16 player wants to raise hell with a university about making tons of money off of them, they should put the team up in a Motel 6 for a few away games and make them ride in university vans across country while giving them a $15 a day per diem. After all, if you're going to make money off the poor student-athlete, you might as well make everything you can get off them.

Which is why the NCAA and conferences are pulling out. Leave the onus on the schools to license the likenesses. All about passing the buck down the line. I predict there won't be a college football game next year. Notre Dame has already pulled out.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
