I don't really know the NCAA rules regarding this but is it now the time appropriate for someone on staff to contact McKoy to see if he wants to change his mind? I'm assuming that ship has sailed but you never know. If depth was in fact the issue a window is open for an experienced corner to get significant play time.

McKoy, Cooper, Samuel.

And are never coming back. Just focus on the guys that are actually going to play.

Yeah that's about what I figured. I'd rather have so much talent and depth that players are worried about playing time than so little depth that we are starting folks before they are ready.

If Hunter is out for the season, does that mean we could get an extra year out of him? That is if he stays for another year. I remember Tyrone Pronty played like six years with a redshirt and an injury year.

It's called "tampering"and it's a no-no.

He could apply for a medical redshirt if he's lost for the whole season.

Yeah, he did not use his redshirt and would not even need a sixth year.

Speaking of possible tampering, Youngstown State certainly jumped on McKoy pretty quick.

We need speed and skill immediately. Burn the redshirts off those players if need be and develop the linemen in the weight room.

In terms of burning redshirts for any incoming CB's, I don't believe any of the DB's we signed this year coming in are even CB's, I believe they are all Safeties. I'm pretty sure Banks, Pierre-Louis and Gourdine (each are 6-1 or better) are all Safeties (Stud or Whip). I believe Robinson is at CB but I think he's a walk-on. The fact that Delk (WR) and Sutton (Rover) were moved to CB shows the position went from a strength to one of need in a matter of days. Watching McKoy walk was relatively easy when he was listed 3rd string behind Hunter. But now with Hunter likely out for the year and McKoy gone, it raises some eyebrows. I wasn't at the scrimmage yesterday, but I kind of wonder if part of the reason our WR's had such a better day was because of this exact reason.

Watson didn't participate yesterday either, which was a factor. CB still is fine with Truss, Adjei-Barimah and Watson. Not too concerned about Sutton moving over. Without any further injuries there, still should be okay. May have to rely on more safety help than before...I'm sure coach Elko will figure it out.
