Showing the importance of a good AD, Akron just had a top quarterback prospect commit and he mentioned the role of the athletic director in his decision:

The visit included a conversation with Akron athletic director Tom Wistrcill, who promoted the program's commitment to winning. Akron opened InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field in 2009 and hired Terry Bowden as head coach.
“(Wistrcill) was the one who told me how dedicated the school was to taking the football program to a new level,” Kincade said. “The facilities were amazing. The indoor facility is probably the nicest I've seen. The stadium is new, and it's great. There's a tremendous opportunity for me.”

FREAKING AWESOME!!! :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Had a chance to talk to him for a few minutes the other day. He certainly is a "breath of fresh air" and the "esprit de corp" of the department is greatly improved already! :)

It's pretty obvious that Mazey and the administration wanted to hire someone who was going to be visible in the community and work hard to promote the school with BG residents, alumni and the student body. I've seen more things with him in the last two weeks than I saw the entire tenure of Christopher.

Had a chance to meet and talk with Chris Sunday. I was very impressed with the way he carries himself and greets people. First impressions are always a sign and he did not disappoint. So happy he's our new AD!

Most people in these positions tend to exude a slick, corporate vibe. Kinsgton, not that far removed from jumping out of planes during military combat missions, seems to project the exact opposite type of persona. He’s matter-of-fact, genuine and speaks in a manner and dialect similar to that of the average fan yet is still polished enough to don the expensive suit and glad-hand the high rollers when the need arises.

Excellent description of him! :supz: He's got more personality in his little pinky than I ever saw in the previous AD. So great to see him in the community and embracing all that makes Bowling Green such a special place to live!!

Folks, I think we have a WINNER!! :supz:
