Houston is ELIGIBLE

Post by Flipper »

Finally we have a big, power back to complement he speed guys,.

Per Clawson in the paper...forget which one...they are under the 85 schollie limit but need some room for grayshirts in January. Hopefully he's refering to Rogers and Smith.

So...how much time are we going to spend wondering of one of the schollies couldn't have gone to Samuel?

I know none of these guys have Archer speed but it would be nice to have a 1-2 punch the way Kent has.

I think there is only one defense in the MAC that could consistently take down a guy like Houston, and that's the defense he sees every day in practice.

MAC D coordinators ... it sucks to be you!

From what I've heard, Rogers and Smith won't be enrolling full time due to their clearinghouse issues until January so this makes sense. Glad to have him on board.

Mike Rogers did not enroll at BG this fall and instead is at a junior college. Brandon English is a grayshirt and will be enrolled in the fall, and Shannon Smith is at BG but not on the football team roster. Pitt transfer Terrell Jackson is also rehabbing a knee injury. Losing Rogers is a pretty big blow since he and Knapke were tight, perhaps he'll become a JUCO transfer?

With as much talent and depth as we will have at RB this year I have to wonder how much Houston will play. Will he be a short yardage specialist, a run out the clock guy, or a powerful every down back? I hope the latter, or at least eventually. He hasn't been at camp as long as the other guys so asking him to play a lot may be too big of a request right now.

Does anyone know if Rogers is planning on coming to BG after Juco if he qualifies?

What's really funny about our RB situation is that of the guys likely to see time (Greene, Martin. Hopgood, Levy, Coppet, Houston & Givens) the starter Greene is a converted WR and the only one not rated at *** or higher coming out of HS.

No, he is enrolled at FIU and with the Panthers now. I will keep tabs on him to see how he does cuz I love his style.
