Fitch Rumor
Well, I haven't commented yet on how Germaine got injured because I didn't see it happen. But if speculation is correct that it was a "chest-bump" and not a "jumped on his back", I say this: It takes two to do a chest bump. The Animal couldn't do it if Germiane didn't do it too. Not blaming anyone for what happened. It was an exciting moment and both player and fan were caught up in it. Just unfortunate that Fitch is one of those guys who seems to get hurt just getting out of bed.

Still pretty hush hush about his MRI. I wonder where he had it done at. I know a couple of the doctors for the bball and football team and they did not peform it, or they too were sworn not to give out any info. I did hear some good news that some did see Fitch walking around campus last night and was not limping. But I guess even with a brace on it still could be deceiving
Not to kill the upside here but you can walk on a torn ACL. When you try to move laterally though, you will feel the pain and most likely fall down. I met a kid up here at BG who went 6 months without realizing he tore his because all he was ever doing was walking around campus.bgsufan1972 wrote:I did hear some good news that some did see Fitch walking around campus last night and was not limping. Update
I just walked over to Anderson Arena after class and watched practice for about 5 minutes- around 2:30.
Germaine was in full practice gear, no knee brace, watching practice while riding a stationary bike.
After I was "realized" by one of the student assistants I was told "You can't be here" I politely left practice. (I was watching rather covertly from an upstairs tunnel, about mid court.

all bowling green
Yeah, a buddy of mine tore his one summer, and waited almost an entire year before he finally had the surgery to repair it. He tore it in the winter, but didn't want to get it repaired until after golf season, so he played golf (always walking the course) for an entire summer on a torn ACL.McMetz811 wrote:Not to kill the upside here but you can walk on a torn ACL. To take a slightly different tack, if a simple chest bump from some kid can knock Germain out of action, isn't it time to think about his long term future after basketball. Being a middle aged guy with bad knees is not as glamorous as Joe Namath makes it looks (Suzy Kolber wouldn't kiss him, right?....)

You'll notice that all information about injuries has been hard to come by in the last couple of seasons.bgsufan1972 wrote:Still pretty hush hush about his MRI. I wonder where he had it done at. Reason: HIPAA. It's against the law for medical professionals others to release medical information. All you can get is pretty much generic stuff unless the individual himself wants to release it.

When I had lunch with Dan two years ago, I remember him talking up how great a kid Germain is. How HARD he had worked to get back and what an inspiration he's been to everyone he comes in contact with.Falcon Commander wrote:Huh ?
I'm pretty sure THAT is what he meant by that statement... it's not about the team losing a player, it's about a kid with SO MUCH heart...
It'll all work out in the end... it always does. Right now, we're all worried that Germain won't be playing hoops for BGSU... but long-term, he's going to be an amazing contributor to society and he will be a stronger man because of all the adversity he's been through!
That's what DD meant... trust me.
