Another thing the marketing dept could do is sell these bands. I know its been discussed on the football forum before.

Other schools are catching on...

Another I use to love about the former Sideline Squad back in the day is when they would mimic opposing coaches. I remember when the worst coach in the history of D-I basketball came into Anderson Arena (that's Greg White to anyone who is wondering) and use to throw his tirades at the refs, the Sideline Squad would do a wonderful job mimicing him. It was beautiful.

These sound like great ideas. I agree we need to keep the Anderson Animals and the Sideline squad seperate, but I love the idea of getting a group created just for the student fans, it would promote unity as well as hopefully increase attendance at the games.

I'm hoping instead of having four seperate cheering squads that we can make one big one. Everyone is going to have to know the cheers, chants, fight songs, etc. I think Metz and the Animals are doing some good things. Hope it continues into something huge...

This is what we are trying to do with the Anderson Animals. The Dakich thing would be cool, but when I think of the House that Roars, I don't think of Dakich. I think of all the history and every player to play in ANDERSON Arena. Hence the ANDERSON Animals.

Again, I'm tired of everyone thinking the Anderson Animals are trying to be like the sideline squad. While it may LOOK like we are trying to do so, you have to realize right now, the Animals only have enough to stand in the front row. Someday I hope it catches on and all the students are Animals but it will take time.

That's one of my favorites but I can't really jump up and down yet :D We were doing the Ohhhhh thing everytime the opposing team crosses half court during the women's game before the turdledo game. Our voices were almost shot so we didn't continue during the men's game. I think that worked well though because the opposing team is down by us during the first half and our ladies took a huge lead early. I'd like to think we had an effect on the score :D
Metz,
Why not use the old hockey "newspaper" routine....during intro's of players.... "Who?" "Never heard of him!!?" etc. Always thought that was an easy and neat way to get an entire section, even the arena involved.

As far as wrist bands go, the unfalconbelieveable ones were for sale in the union on friday. I got one, but they are kinda cheap (not like the livestrong bands) and the writing is already coming off. They were a dollar a piece, and I'm not sure if/when they will be on sale again. I may just have to buy them in bulk next time.

I thought the chant was:

"Who's he?"

Response: "NOBODY!"

It'd be cool to see the whole crowd turn it's back during the away teams intros.

there are some good ideas but how are you gonna be able to make one idea successful and get the support from some students who dont like the idea because you need to get everyone involved...but im still in high school and me and my boys make it too about every home football game and bball game that we can ( unless it conflicts with our sports) but we def would support and idea you guys have so i think u guys should all make up one idea and stick to it so that u can get this thing on the go...

I disagree. In Anderson, the students are definitely closer to the game which creates a different atmosphere. Also, being a smaller arena, the sound has a stronger echo and you don't need the numbers for it to get to the same level of noise.
