After 1 week, I am convinced BG is the team to beat in the East. Keep an eye on UB...16 starters back this yr.

NIU beating Iowa was great....

Overall I for one, with the exception of BG and NIU, don't think the league looked too good at all. SAme old same old in most cases.

You know, as the weekend games continued.... I would agree. I thought Miami and Ohio really laid a couple of eggs this weekend-looks like the MAC may be a two horse race.

Toledo and OU played excellent teams. Can't count them out yet. ...That being said yes the conference looked bad for the most part.

One week is certainly early to base any rock solid predictions on, but Ohio looked really bad yesterday. Louisville is a legit top shelf team and I certainly didn't expect Ohio to beat them, but I did expect to see them at least put up a fight. I felt coming into this season that Ohio, while still a contender, wasn't going to be quite as strong as the last couple years and what I saw of them on Saturday didn't do anything to change my mind. It's a long season and a lot can happen, but at this point, I think the East is ours to lose.

What Freak said above - don't look past Buffalo, even if they are the last game we play. Playing the #2 team in the land in their first game and "only" getting beat 40-20 says a lot. I figured tOSU would come out and make a statement, which they didn't/couldn't and much like my second favorite team did. Go Blue! :supz:

UB could be dangerous. But ... they scored 7 on us last year and I'm not sure they could match that on this year's defense.
