Thats pretty funny right there! Man, hearing the way you all talk about the 91 tape, it must be pretty good. I wouldn't mind borrowing or getting a copy from somebody. What all did you do that season??

The most impressive aspect of the 91 tape was that most of the songs were recorded live in concert.

It was sweet. Star Wars was a better recording. The beginning of Superman was WAY out of tune courtesy of the trumpets.

The only thing that really bothers me about Superman is I can hear the flags hiting the floor from their routine. That has always bothered me.

Star Wars was recorded the next day; it didn't turn out that fantastic during the live performance. A couple other songs were recorded that next day, too due to the trumpets losing their chops (i.e. Brad Schaefer).

what I like the second most about it is that we have all the cadences on it... no other tape do we have that. and now that those lines have changed, I'm even more thankful to have it on there... but we sure had to talk Jackson into it!

You're right. We recorded Star Wars the next day.

The only tape which cadences were NOT included was the 90 tape. We substituted most of our stand tunes. We put that to a vote for the rank and file, if memory serves. My 88, 89, 91, and 92 tapes all have the cadences.
I was listening to the 88 tape last night. How much fun was the Little Shop of Horrors show?

The Bass Drum Line that year was incredible. There is that one cadence right before funk you that was all bass drums...holy crap, was that amazing! I had all these crazy 16th note triplet runs in it. I don't remember the name of it, but I can hear it in my head (it drowns out all the other voices)

Are there any '87 tapes out there? I was a frosh and didn't march that year.

The trumpet line was the best I have ever heard from the FMB. They played a Disney show that just blew me away. I saw it live during one of the coldest games I witnessed. Zippity Doo Da in driving sleet and it was solid sounding AND IN TUNE.

Awesome.
