How are black jerseys an abomination? They create excitement around teams because its something different that's why schools have black outs. We hardly embrace the color brown as it is. Change it up, have some fun, that's why Oregon is always is the news because they aren't afraid to do something a little different when it comes to their jerseys and equipment.

Ok, I'm a "Senior Citizen", especially in this group, but I also believe strongly in traditions...BG's colors are ORANGE and BROWN, like it or not... I wouldn't have an objection to an occasional change as you mention, assuming of course, that we can afford to do so. Comparing us to Oregon, with Phil Knight's Billions backing 30+ different uni combinations, is NOT gonna cut it, IMO.
Others have mentioned that they'd like to see BROWN jersies as a 3rd alternative... I think that'd be a great idea. So the "we" you refer to as not embracing the color brown I would think would NOT be that large a group, especially among alumni. Perhaps current students get turned on by the black stuff, but this is one alum who doesn't. [-X

Black is just plain stupid. Alumni can't relate and neither should current students. The colors are orange and brown. Embrace them. We shouldn't fall prey to every little shoe company scheme to sell their products just like we shouldn't have Thursday night games (which screw all out of town alumni). i don't see Ohio State or Florida wear black. Why should we? As for sweet caroline and WE Are, come on. We need to stick to tradition and not be followers.

Oregon is in the news half the time because they're being mocked for what they're doing with their uniforms. There's no continuity there; it's just as if someone took colors that include their school colors, and threw them on clothing and let it dry.

No thanks to the black.

Brown & orange are great colors. If you want to switch things up, go with a brown jersey and orange pants or white pants. I don't mind changing combinations on the jerseys, so long as they're the school colors.

BG is one of the few (if not the only) schools in college football whose colors are directly linked to an NFL Hall of Fame coach, and an NFL franchise. Paul Brown loved the BG colors so much, he adopted them for the Browns. That's something to take pride in -- and if kids today don't know about it...TEACH THEM the history. It's important.

As an example of why you dont need black, UofM finally has made Michigan Stadium electric using Maize (watch tonight) and using a night game to make Michigan Stadium worthy of its nickname. I will say when your colors are 'burnt' orange and 'seal' brown it is a challenge to excite people, but hey, its a color scheme no other team has on our planet with the exception of the Browns, and I dont believe they catergorize themselves with burnt and seal.

I like Forward Falcons as an option too.

If I recall correctly, I think the athletic department posted something on Facebook asking for a new "hashtag" to use this year. Last year it was #goBG (even had it on the boards around the ice at the arena) and they wanted a new one for this year. It wasn't a contest but they picked #WeAreBG from the suggestions. And if I also recall correctly, #RollAlong was mentioned by a lot of people!

GO FALCONS!!
BEAT KENT!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I'm pro any and all BG hashtags. I just made a facebook status about wishing I could be in Kent for the game today, and I hashtagged Go BG, Roll Along, We Are BG, and All In For BG. Anything pro BG/supporting BG works for me

At Bowling Green, they should be brown outs.

They made the student shirts brown a few years ago (2011, I believe). They even did a brown out for the first game. Neither went over real well if memory serves correct.

I ran into a few folks at the Kent game who also hated the "We are BG" crap.

I agree that it should be AZZ or Roll on, and I too hate when we copy what other schools have done or are doing.

On the other hand at least we aren't "rowing the boat" and sticking oars on our helmets, so it could be worse. A lot worse.

I'm just trying to be realistic and educate some people, and by people I mean alumni. Brown has in no way been embraced by the school or the community. I'll change my name to I bleed orange if it makes everyone feel better. Also a side note, both Ohio State and Florida have black jerseys, but the release dates haven't been set. It's what gets people excited, its a nice change from the normal. I can't wait to hear how everyone reacts when the news breaks that Ay Ziggy is now an official fight song along with Forward Falcons.
