Re: To Our Very Strong Sports Marketing Department
If I'm out and about and see someone sporting BG gear I always say, "Ay Ziggy!" Could that be one of these hashtags?
I like orange, I like brown, I like roll along. But I am old. Get off my lawn. 'We are' is generic but if you get a packed house of enthusiastic fanatics, any chant no matter how lame sounds cool.

does anyone else see the irony here?
83,
Yes, not sure if it's Irony or just plain dumb. Call yourself Orange and Brown and bad rap "embracing" brown.
And by the way, glad to see that others agree with me on the use of brown...Perhaps ol "brown and Orange" Bleeder needs to get a transfusion?

That's fine. Let them do their thing. Black doesn't clash with their colors. It absolutely fails with ours.IBleedOrangeAndBrown wrote:Also a side note, both Ohio State and Florida have black jerseys,

Not to mention that when teams that have black outs at their home stadium, their teams' performance is usually poor. University of Georgia was one of the first schools to do one, I think it was when I was a sophomore or junior, maybe 2006 or 2007. Georgia was down 31-0 to Alabama at the half.Schadenfreude wrote:At Bowling Green, they should be brown outs.IBleedOrangeAndBrown wrote:How are black jerseys an abomination? Let's not forget how well Ohio's black out went against BG last year. Not.

Re: To Our Very Strong Sports Marketing Department
I'd rather see us wear sick brown alternates than generic black alternates. Black alternates are horribly cliche, and I think we'd be better off selling what makes us unique rather than following a tired trend. The only time when black alternates were cool was when Duke basketball started wearing them. Doing it now is just copycatting and unoriginal.
As for the "All In" slogan: that is an Adidas marketing slogan, not an IU or BG slogan. Adidas uses "all in" to sell everything from BGSU Football to Michigan basketball to Lionel Messi cleats to Chelsea FC shirts.

Ya, no one wears the black and orange combo... If they did it would look God awful. Oh wait, what's this? #MACChamps #WeAreBG http://bgsufalcons.com/news/2013/9/10/V ... 33523.aspx

We're going on about colors...not the QB, special teams or defense....that's how well things are going this year.
I like orange and black just fine...I'm not one of this "live brown or die" types. But then, I was a Toledo DeVilbiss Tiger my first three years of high school, so I'm biased.

Oklahoma State rocks the orange and black combo pretty well.IBleedOrangeAndBrown wrote:Ya, no one wears the black and orange combo... If they did it would look God awful. Oh wait, what's this? #MACChamps #WeAreBG http://bgsufalcons.com/news/2013/9/10/V ... 33523.aspx

We can always win and honor the traditions of the school simultaneously, too.

Stumbled across another school with the "WE ARE" thing going on... funny, maybe they stole it from us???

That's exactly the thing. We're fortunate to have a distinctive rallying cry that's unique to this institution and this institution alone. We don't have to copy others or invent something out of whole cloth. Why they went so aggresively with the tired and hackneyed "We Are" is baffling.

Re: To Our Very Strong Sports Marketing Department
I also hate us wearing black. Black and orange is a good combo - I grew up in Cincy. Love the Bengals - but their colors ARE orange and black. Ours are obviously not. I loved the one football game when I was in college (I think it was '08) where we came out for warmups in orange and switched to brown in the locker room. That was the only time (other than hockey) where I've actually seen BG wear brown jerseys.
