Ice Box seating

It will be interesting to see if this works. Lots of fans prefer to stand at the south glass.
Michigan has some 2-seaters like this.

The placement of these seats is a bit strange to me. Why do you want to put premium seating in the worst sightline for a hockey game? Would have made more sense to make the whole chairback area "club" seating with those amenities and charged more for the tickets.

I applaud the "outside-the-box" ideas though.

WTF? We've stood in the same spot for every game for almost 20 years. And now, because we aren't "big donors" and aren't willing to spend $1700 on season tickets we get the boot? Beyond pissed right now. Actually, pissed doesn't even want to describe it.

Moving 6 feet to either side is really that much of an inconvenience?

So it's not the entire south end? The article doesn't exactly say.

The Ice Box will provide seating for four at a high top table located behind the glass on the South side of the arena. In addition to the table and the four seats for the season, the package will include the same arrangements for any playoff games hosted by BGSU.

Ice Boxes will include several perks
Sounds like there will be more than one.

I spoke with Bill at the ticket office this morning. There will be 5 4-seat tables. There will be stanchions behind them at a distance of 8' from the glass.
There will be some limited space for standing at the glass, at the Zamboni doors and other spots. One table has been taken to date. Bill has experience with this concept from his days with the Falcons at Air Force. There's a waiting list for them at AFA. There will be pics on the BG website ASAP.

Putting in new La-Z-Boy reclining chairs. Mine is massage-capable and will have stereo headrest so I can listen to the WBGSU kids call the game. Also a seat warmer (to keep my tuckus warm in the chilly ice arena or in case my ice cold beer makes me feel a little cold).

They're being replaced with new, orange chairbacks.

I don't mind this idea, good way to increase gate revenue for the hockey program and more people will be actually sitting in the bleachers to make the place look more full.

Because 20 people sitting at tables looks much better than people lined up 6 deep trying to see the ice. If you've never watched a game from down there, I truly wouldn't expect you to understand why we like standing there so much.

I've watched many games from there, and having played hockey I prefer to sit on the sides and watch that way, can see more things developing. I see your point though, and I suppose if this doesn't take off they can open that area back up to standing again.
