Seems like Joplin has cured his case of the drops and is becoming the player we thought he could be. We'll need him and Gallon to stretch the field some tomorrow.

Givens is a quality RB...but he's about 20-25 lbs heavier than he was coming out of HS and I don't know that his frame can carry that without losing a bit of quickness. He's still effective, but Greene is better. Greene is impressive because he has that Dri Archer ability to make people miss in traffic, not just the open field and he's not afraid to run between the tackles.

What's really scary about RB is we have Greene, Givens, Houston and Coppet with guys like Martin, Hopgood and Levy behind them. I do not recall EVER having a seven quality RB's on the roster.... but no.... I'm leaving out Eric Harrell who's a *** recruit apparently taking a RS year and Brandon English who will apparently grayshirt and was also a *** recruit. That's eight guys with another *** guy for next year....eight guys...it's an almost unbelievable pool of talent for a MAC school to drawn on at a single position.

I agree that Givens looks a snip slower this year. Still really good and more complete than Greene.
I wonder if we will start moving some of these guys to Rover or DB? I think that Dri is an overstatement. I don't think he has near the speed of agility. Geter is a fair comparison.

Please correct if wrong....'61 and/or Freak and/or FF.....but pretty sure the longest pass in BG history belongs to Dave Dudley? 98 yards! And just for the record, "Duds" was/is a local boy - BG High grad - and has his own asphalt/paving business. At least he did at one point in time.

Digging up a thread of some interesting stats with an interesting one. Five games in and we still don't have an interception. Secondary is playing very well keeping the receivers from making catches. I don't know why there's no interceptions yet, but if we finish the season 8-0 in conference play with no interceptions I'd take it any day.

Vs San Diego State in 1976...it was actually 96 yards. Nice going SicSic!
