Mrs. Freak and I drove 7 hours to Chitown for this game. We originally had tix for the South Carolina game and were gonna lay around Myrtle Beach for a few days before heading to Columbia. Then 9/11 hit and everything got cancelled.
This was the wildest game I've ever seen...back and forth, big plays on both sides and each team amassing over 600 yards offense. Just an incredible game. Afterwards, I could have driven from Chicago to New York on the adrenaline rush I was on. The two point conversion reverse with Ice Cole Magner was the bomb and Robert Redd had a career day receiving.
Some people tried to downplay the win (osu fans, mainly). "Well, NW was only 4-5 at the time of the game". Yeah, well they were defending BiG ten champs so shove it.
I only wish I knew where to get a copy of that game on dvd...it was that exciting.

Always will regret not taking that bus trip that went to this game but listening on the radio was even pretty sweet.

Absolutely Freak. The most spectacular game that nobody really talks about.
Northwestern had it all sewn up with just over a minute to go. All they had to do was run the ball and run the clock out. Incredibly, we forced a fumble and recovered it to set up the score and two point conversion.
Anyone who was at that game saw an all-time great performance. The only comparison in recent years is the Oklahoma/Boise Fiesta Bowl when the Broncos ran the statue of liberty play.

Urban gets a lot of flack, but one thing apparent is that he never forgot where he came from. He's talked a lot about his time at BG this year, and that to me is nothing but free recruiting and positive buzz for the school and the program. It's great being able to read these stories and know that urban remembers them just as much as the fans do.
